The Loss of a Legend

Haven't been on in a while due to being out of town on business. And now I find myself down in some of the member's stomping grounds (Louisiana) for a much more unfortunate event.

Some of you may have known my grandfather, A.W. Buie Sr. Grandpa went on to be with the Lord just after 4:00AM this past Sunday, the 16th of February. We have went a long time since our family has experienced loss and this particular one is going to hit the family hard. Our family would appreciate you thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I was wondering about you yeaterday. And am very sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your faimily. Seems like I should have more words to say, but... May God bless and comfort you all.

Sorry for the lose of your Grandfather. Loosing a loved one is never easy.

I've heard a Elder Bill Buie preach years ago...would this be the same man?

Enjoyed hearing him. He could hold your attention and the time didn't drag by.

Are you the elder's son?

Re: The Loss of a Legend

We had a wonderful service today. Many speakers walking down memory lane. All three son's spoke as well as myself and one other grandson. And yes, all three sons and all the grandsons wore bowties. :) Those who knew him will realize that significance.

We are very appreciative of all your thoughts and prayers.

Was this Bro. Buie the one who was son-in-law to the late A.T. Morgan and was in the ALJC back in the nineteen seventies?

Yes, he was the son-in-law of A.T. Morgan...he remained a licensed minister with the ALJC (Louisiana District) until his death.

Sorry, late getting to respond to your question. The viewing and funeral services were held at Soul's Harbor UPC in Calhoun (just west of Monroe/West Monroe) and the burial occured at HillCrest Memorial just east of Bossier City.
