Please be :praying for me. I'm getting a bit :uhoh about my surgery (2/28).

I won't be able to be :boomm on the forum for a couple weeks.

Since I will just be :bedtime on painkillers.

Taking a :bath is going to be :reaction!!!!

After a bit, I'll be up and running :wheelchair! Or slowly :IAM

But, with :praying and a little :statbike: and :stretch: - I will be :shockamoo good as new when it's all over!

And able to :coolcar in a couple months!!!!!

I posted this for fun in the smilie thread and since I haven't really made it totally public that I'm having surgery, I was getting some concerned emails......so,

I need your love and prayers! This coming Thursday at 9:00 a.m. I will be having a total knee replacement. I've had a bad knee since I was 16 when I had my first torn cartilage surgery, then another one about 8 years ago. Now, it's bone on bone and after three rooster combs series of injections, there's nothing else to do except replace my worn out worthless knee.

Everyone that's every known of someone or had replacement surgery themselves have said they'd do it all over again.

I'm praying for a good, successful surgery and speedy recovery!

My aunt had this. My husband had knee reconstruction...

It's not pleasant of course, but you will probably agree when it's done that it was worth it.

We'll pray for a speedy recovery!

Serious surgery!!! I certainly will be praying for you. My FIL had that done a couple of years ago. We were there with him the whole way. I know you'll be glad I can't visit. I was pushing his food tray, which was too low, and it hit his knee!!!!

Yeah. Happy. That was his name. He had the surgery, recovered quickly and went on to play professional football. So, see, you have nothing at all to worry about.

The nursing home I work at provides excellent therapy and the beds are comfy. The food isn't too bad either. We have a female room available........

I have to be on the CMP for at least three weeks too! Sleeping with my leg in that and lying flat of my back is going to be something else. I'm a side sleeper.

Sounds like a great plan.....however, you are a few hundred miles from me!

We've had residents from Florida. We aren't prejudiced....LOL!

That CMP will feel good, even if your back isn't handling you laying on it!

I haven't taken care of a TKR patient for awhile. I didn't know you had to sleep with the machine!

The protocol use to be 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and 2hours in the evening. Will you get to go straight home or to rehab?
