Spitzer Spritzer

Spitzer is about to resign. Wonder if his wife will be standing by his side today?

She looks shattered...so sad.

Re: Spitzer Spritaer

Why do women "stand by" the men who treat them this way? And what kind of sicko would even ask his hurting wife to show her face in public in the middle of all this?

I don't know if I could do what some of those politician's wives do, stand next to them when they announce their immorality to the world. He didn't even look all that sorry, if you ask me, just sorry he was caught.

:kickcan

Maybe if he was standing there with two black eyes, then I could do it, and the world would know he'd had to answer for it, and I'd have a little pride left and even muster up a grin. :coffee2

Maybe that isn't the Christian response. :D

She looked so sad and humiliated in his original "apology" speech. My heart hurt for her.

Hopefully it was part of the divorce settlement. "Yes, I will stand there like I care, but this is what you are going to do next and this is what I get....."

Why do they make the wives go out and stand next to the jerk?

I would venture to say that she is threatened by the party. That is their life. If the party left her, what would she do? She doesn't want to be a loner at this time. JMO.

Maybe she actually believes in "til death do us part" and is willing to forgive her husband. Have any of you "Christian" women considered that?

I'm not criticizing her for standing by her man. I just don't think I have what it takes to do that. I haven't ever been in that position, so I can't say for certain.

I don't know if I could be so charitable...

But when kids are involved I guess you think twice about shattering your family even further.

I think you do. We do alot in the heat of the moment that we don't want to, just to try to "save face". My guess is, she won't be standing so closely when all this public stuff is over.

Client number 9 might soon be looking for wife number 2.

I feel worse for his wife and kids, than for him actually.

Meaningless sex with prostitutes is much easier to forgive than an actual love affair, in my opinion. Not trying to minimize what he did, mind you, but there is a difference.

I agree there is a difference, but there is more than just the meaningless sex. The sex, the lies, the deceit....

As an interesting side-note, Spitzer is a Democratic superdelegate who was going to commit to Hillary Clinton at the upcoming convention. Of course, he loses that position by resigning as NY governor.

So this is one superdelegate that wont be there to pledge for Hillary, so it's almost like Obama getting one more delegate on his side.

You have a point and as their lives are in the higher echelon, she might not really care about what he did as long as they lived and rubbed shoulders in high society. There is a price that must be paid.

I read that this morning. Of course, sorry about the situation, but kinda pleased that something else is not working for Billary.

Not to mention that he was putting his wife's health at risk with the possibility of bringing home a disease to her.

The high priced call girls are checked on a regular basis. They have the best doctors.

Well, for all we know she knew about what he was doing and was ok with it. Maybe she didn't want to fulfill her wifely duty in that department and gave him the green light to see prostitutes. It wouldn't be the first time a wife agreed to let her husband go that route. We really don't know all the details. At any rate, this situation certainly has to be very embarassing for both of them.

High priced is an understatement. LOL! I read that he spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $80K. That's a lot of moolah.
