Some places cable doesn't come too far out of town. Like where we live, we can't get cable, but a mile down the road they can. If you have Directv or DishNetwork you can get it from them. Or even the phone company in TX. Or try HughesNet.com I think they go out in the country.

I was told they MAY have DSL in a month.

In the meantime I may get dialup IF I don't have to do a contract.

I'm thrilled your move is working out! Your DSL will too. I used Earthlink when I was on dial-up and I really liked them. They were very easy to cancel with and no contract.

About seven years ago I was in the exact same position. We moved from the city where I had a cable broadband modem out into the country where I had to go back to dial up.

It drove me nuts! However the Lord had mercy on me and unexpectedly a few months after we moved the little itty bitty country telephone company we had started offering DSL. I was the easiest sale they had for their new service.

I hope you have the same good luck in finding some good internet access.

We use Wildblue satellite internet. It's the same idea as HughesNet, except their start-up costs are a little cheaper.
