Time to think about prom alternatives... OR better yet - public school alternatives!

Hard to believe ain't it, brother. It is a sad commentary on our society.

On the lighter side, since they are in Alabama, are they cousins too?

J/K!

Well at least no metally defective children from that union... on second thought - if they do "have children" they are garanteed mental turmoil.

Sadly our state put out the ten commandments from Montgomrey too.

I hate that. I sent some funds to the Judge Moore legal defense fund a few years ago.

You can't change society.

You can only live as God would have you live.

That example and the preaching of the Cross of Christ will change the hearts of society.

There is no shocker when sin is involved.

In the world or in the church.

You are the man Monkey acutally you are the Monkeyman!

(not pointed at Moneyman but pointed to the topic) You know what people reguardless of sexual orientaion have rights. Am I for gay marriage etc, no, but I have a hard time telling someone they have no right cause of a sinful lifestyle. If it were the sin like homosexuality that made someone lose rights then everyone would be right less, right? I think it is sickening, but that is because I am a straight man. Whether we like it or not it is going to be a bigger part of society than we will be willing to accept. Get used to it.

Nope. They're reprobates.

Unworthy of compassion, grace, or mercy.

We need to ridicule them and call them disgusting and putrid.

With all the ugly comments about it being disgusting, I figured I'd join in. Sorry... got carried away.

I'm not for it, but I think there are a whole lot more important things to worry about for our teenagers than a couple of confused girls showing up at a prom as a 'couple'.... like drugs, drinking and driving, and the sex the kids will be doing at and after the prom...

The thing yes this is sad, because outside of the grace of God people will do anything, but even sadder people are not ashamed of what they do.
Once upon a time in our society people involved in such lifestyles would not publicly admit such, because the morals and values of people would not tolerate such being admitted.
I have daughters, and I think about what kind of world we have to live in,yet we as Christians are called to be light in a dark place.

Yo Ronzo, I read the thread again and fail to see how... well nevermind it's all sin. Promoting homosexuality, drugs, drinking and driving, or premarital sex is all sin/and sinful. It would be disturbing to see a judge rule in favor of public affirmation of any of them.

I find it strange that you would be unable to continue discussion for whatever reason.

I'm also a straight male, but homosexuality doesn't bother me. Same goes for a lot of other straights of either gender. I think there must be another reason you are sickened. Is it because the Bible calls it sin? Maybe. But are you sickened by, say, people working on the Sabbath?

This is TIC, I know, but one of the interviews in the Borat movie showed a guy who said "we" are trying to get the death penalty for gays in the US, and sure didn't seem to be speaking TIC. Now that is sickening, to me.

We know that homosexuality was something hidden from American society. But that meant it went unaddressed and bubbled unchecked under the surface. Let's not fool ourselves...it's been with us in every decade. We just ignored it.

But society is getting to the place where it is breaking out into the light. That means we have to realize that hiding it didn't resolve anything. When issues like this break forth into the light it's an opportunity for the church to minister to those struggling with the issue.

I'm not sure it would be good to go back to the days when everything "looked" ok when it wasn't.

And what if He doesn't deliver them? Is that somehow their fault? Did they do something wrong? Not fast enough, not pray enough, not plead enough? Didn't feel guilty enough?

What if He doesn't? Does that mean they're never welcome in the church? Or forever have to hide who they are, what they struggle with? Does it mean they live with skeletons in the closet for the rest of their lives?

You obviously haven't heard, there are limits on God's grace. Hmmm no that doesn't sound right. Perhaps there are limits on some church's understanding of God's grace.

Well then surely there are some sins which God cannot deal with. Hmmm that doesn't sound right either. Perhaps there are some sins that certain church members can't love through in spite of their claims of knowing what agape means.

Maybe they have forgotten the message of Jesus:

I love you, and there's nothing you can do about it!
