Need a book recommendation

I was talking to a friend the other day who has started to study the Bible. She is involved in a non denominational Bible Study called BFS. Our conversation led to the "last days". She had not had any teaching about the last days or the Second Coming of Christ. I directed her to Daniel which she went home and read and called me with questions. I know some about prophecy, but it has be several years since I have studied it. Can anyone recommend a book for me to read that puts it together as a time line, and what all they symbols mean? Help!!!!!

Nathaniel Haney, son of Gen. Supt. Ken Haney has written some books on prophecy based on Clyde Haneys (his grandfather) notes that he used in teaching at the Bible School at Stockton. I have a couple of these books and they are pretty easy to read. I think he used his grandfather's notes for some Bible Studies he taught and then he put them out in book form. They are available from the Pentecostal Publishing House.

IMHO, Most all studies of the "endtime" have a predetermined goal to lead students into a particular view of eschatology.

Risking criticism for recommending an author that has written anti-Oneness materials - I suggest:

The Apocalypse Code: Find Out What the Bible REALLY Says About the End Times . . . and Why It Matters Today

THE DAYS OF
VENGEANCE
An Exposition of the
Book of Revelation
David Chilton

This is the best book on the subject of phrophecy that I've ever read. It can be bought in hard back, or the file can be downloaded off the internet for free and read on your computer. It's not a read in a couple days type book. It's all there.

Personally I like "A Message for the President" as a good starting point. I agree with a lot of what Irving Baxter says, but not everything. However, I haven't met anyone yet that I agree 100% with either. :)

Go back to the classics in the field.

Clarence Larkin - "Dispensational Truth"

It trained several generations of pastors in the UPC, in fact few of the older pastors don't have it in their library, especially the ABI folks.

endtime.com has lots of free material for download. Message to the President is no longer in print. Understanding the endtime level 1 and 3 contain all and more of the material in the book. You can just buy the manuals for about $15.

Wow, I didn't know that. Is that recent? Seems I remember them advertising it for sale not long ago. But I could very easily be wrong.

Well I called endtime and asked for the book about a week ago and they said they didn't have any. Neither does it appear on their list of sale items. They may have been out of stock but I think they are no longer printing. I could be wrong.

Maybe it become outdated and it's predictions to no effect?

I have that one and it was written many years ago, and so much of it has proven wrong.

Yeah, that's why they ususally take most books off the market and replace them with something more current to the News Papers... but, alas, they to will some day be put on the back shelf and replaced with the latest and newest news... that to will fade away and be proven wrong.

In school, I found Greek Mytholigy interisting also... but it does me little good as far as my walk with God goes... well it does hold a little more to the traditional view of hell than the Bible does.

I don't advocate everything here, but there is some material of merit here, and it does provoke one to study.
