Re: How many ABI grads on here?

I graduated in '82. I was class president all 3 yrs and was the honor student. We had 106 in our first year class and graduated, I think 86. It was one of the last large classes. Steve & Barb Willoughby were in my class as was "Bubby" Martin, Supt. of OK and a host of other wonderful people. :D

Sorry but I think this forum is where all the JCM alum. have migrated too... not many ABI here as far as I am aware. But if you know many from JCM you can sure find em here or someone very close to them at least LOL

Re: How many ABI grads on here?

ABI Class of '87 - JCM was a mess the years prior to my attending ABI (early 80s). I think it might have progressed a bit better while I was at ABI. I am friends with some guys that graduated during those mid 80s years. JCM was the "hot shot" school. ABI was mostly a bunch of no name Midwestern salt of the earth types. No playboys and BMWs and Mercedes in the parking lot.

"Better to have little with the fear of the Lord than to have plenty with chaos."

ABI is still standing. JCM is a ghost town.

Yes. The "honor student" was chosen by the faculty each graduating year. That was different from the valedictorian or the student with the highest gpa. That student, in my class, was Ray Starr. He was first and I was second, I think.

I went to ABI but did not graduate.
I attended ABI for the 1956/1957 year only.
My intention was to return in the fall of 1957 but that did not happen.
I never went back there.

My aunt (Ilene Kloepper) taught there about that time. She was very young, not much older than the students. Actually, it may have been before that. I think JH Rose and GL Glass Jr. were students then.

I'm old.
This past December 6th I turned 70.

Someone once told me that I'm so old that when God said, "let there be light," I was the one that flipped the switch.

Now that ya'll know how old I am, I expect a little respect.
R--E--S--P--E--C--T

I don't want to be like Bro. Rodney Dangerfield and have to say, "I get no respect."

My husband went to JCM... 2001 right before the end of the end

He was going to go when he first got out of high school. Instead he ended up... well not living right to say the least... and after he got back in church and out of the military.. Bro Craft and Bro Clark asked him to come and even allowed him to attend and yet only be in class 2 weeks a month because of his work schedule. They recorded all the classes and he did his other work when he returned on his 2 weeks off.

A LOT of pastors kids (and District Supe kids) got in trouble at JCM.....I would not blame it on one...and that was during the years from 79 to 82 that I speak of.

Sam, maybe I'm the only one on here that's older than you. I attended ABI fall of 51. I went back after Christmas vacation but Bro. N decided the military was the place for me. That's what you get for dating church girls!!:bliss My wife's husband would have been there when you were there. I won't release any names, he is now deceased. I spent five years in the AF and then graduated from CLC.

Yeah, I thought it was silly then and I still do now. It did not work. There was plenty of "hanky panky" going on when I was there. (but not by me) :D

Must be where the folks at Ohio Camp learned that. We had that same rule at camp. Silly, silly!! If you walked around camp, you had to have 6 inches between you. But if you were in the church van on the way home from youth rallies, it was ok to sit cuddled together in the back seat covered up by her long coat over both of you. Hmmmmmmmm........

I think that sort of stuff happened no matter what rules are in place! It didn't matter if it was ABI or JCM or CLC.
