Tax Day: Do we have many AFF procrastinators?

Ok How many of our Affers wait till the last minute to file your taxes? Are you going to be one of the ones at the local post office at midnight?

Just curious to see if your one of the few who stop up our roads at midnight tonight LOL

I have to admit... Mine is messed up and I didnt make it a multiple choice poll... I filed our federal the day we got our w2 But.............. I forgot and we also have to do state for Louisiana and Oklahoma (husband works in La more than 4 months of the year and so they take taxes... and we lived in Ok part of the year) and one of them we get a check back from and the other well we owe 100 dollars too and I had totally forgot about it because Tx doesnt have state so I just didnt even think to look. Our lovely agent had nicely filled these papers in with everything else and Rob didnt tell me oh FUN!!!!

Thank God it wasnt a large amount cuz It would not be a good place to be without having it to send!!!!!

So I put file immediately but I am also an accidental procrastinator! :(

This year, for the first time in my life, I had to pay in.

I filed yesterday and the IRS has accepted my e-file. SHOCKER!!!!!!!

This is the second time I think that we have had to pay in on state taxes for states we dont even live in!!! LOL

I am thanking God we dont have to pay in on federal! I know there willl be a day but God is good and that days not here yet! With my husband doing the work he does there are so many deduction allowances that it a blessing indeed! Most of his clothes for work are covered and all his work shoes and all his glasses and gloves and even pens pencils and notebooks for his job... And for all the drs (with 4 kids this can be a lot!!) and transportation too and from all that is deductible too and so that helps out tons!

I filed mine in Feb. and the money is already received, spent, and long gone.

I filed LR's last night cause she's a procrastinator and I thought I was going to have to file an extension for her!!

We received both fed and state refunds via direct deposit last month. It wasn't alot but I'll take any money they give back.

No procrastinating here--we have until Midnight on April 30 in Canada to get it into the hands of the Government!

We got ours back in segments this year..It was nice and aggrivating at the same time. We got most of it and then it was a decent bit short so when I called they said it had gone to Ms DHS?!?!?! So when I called them they said they had a computer glitch this year and pretty much anyone who pays child support thru them got their taxes taken this year?!?! WHOAAA I told them they best fix that. It somehow computed as automatic garnishments for anyone who paid CS thru the CS office... So we had to wait 3 more weeks for that check to come because it had to go to them and then they expedited it to us... Then we got our return from one of the state taxes we filled... So it was nice and drawn out and for the first year in I dont know how long we didnt have to use it to move!!!

My hubby too spent most of ours... but he spent it on me and the kids so I aint complainin! He loves me much.. loves me long time :)

I know, I know, he didn't ask me if he could do it. Well I will get our rebate in May all for me..........And I ain't spendin it on any trucks...............:bliss

We filed ours in Feb. and got it back already. Put it right in the bank. We've got to get busy working on building our savings back up where I want it to be. It took a real hit during Walt's aneurism time.

LOL...

Today is my Papa's birthday and it was so funny because he always went to the church to do his taxes (his quiet thinking place lol) and you could always watch him get in his car about 1030 and head downtown Dallas to the main post office to wait iin line to mail his taxes! We joke that after so many yrs it must by now be an annual ritual!

Re: Tax Day: Do we have many AFF procrastinators?

I filed mine a couple months ago. I made the mistake today of taking a huge box to the post office to mail to missionaries in Mexico. I forgot it was TAX DAY!!! I stood in line forever, pushing the box along with my foot, because it was too heavy to carry that long. I finally made it to the front of the line, and the guy thought I was nuts for coming in today when I didn't have to. But I had promised the missionary I would mail the clothes today, so I felt like I had to. (Guilt is one of my gifts). :tantrum
