Tina's hubby in ER

Please pray for Tina's husband. He hurt his back at work and was taken to the ER.

Tina is headed there now, and asked me to post this.

She said he was having trouble turning his head.

Re: Tina's hubby in ER

When I got to the ER, they had taken him in to do a CT Scan. The nurse told me that they thought he had a compression fracture. The ER doctor didn't see anything on the CT scan, and I have the images on CD and will have them viewed by my sister tomorrow when she gets home and see if she sees anything on them. Hopefully there won't be anything that the other doctor missed.

He is on complete bedrest for the weekend, and has to use ice on it for the weekend.

He is kind of in la-la land right now, because of the drugs they gave him at the hospital. He's resting on the couch. So while the drugs are working, I'm leaving one daughter to take care of him, and taking the other to go pick up his truck at the factory before they lock the gate.

I'll update again later. Thanks everyone for praying. I know it has made a difference.

Glad it is all right.
Just remember, you just had a major medical miracle & the devil would love nothing more than to steal that victory from you.

Continuing in prayer.

Tina, glad to hear he is home resting! But yes please get a second check... Everyone is human.... including drs. Some things are very easy to see but when it comes to the back not all are.

The doctor told me that sometimes small fractures won't show up on film for a couple of days. (I have no idea why) He said that if the pain isn't greatly reduced or completely gone by Monday, to get him back to be seen again.

Tina, I've been told the same thing several different times by several different doctors, so I'm thinking that must be true.

Just got on here and saw this, so I'll start praying for your husband now.

I was corrected on that myself yesterday morning. I was so upset at the dr at the ER w Jaid.. then found out that it didnt show at all in 1 and was so hard to see in the others... so I guess they are right :)

It is true. It's because fractures are thin, small, and bone is not a solid substance, it's porous. The deposits that the body lays down while healing are thicker than the original bone (think scar tissue) and show up much more clearly in xrays. It's kind of cool actually. Not that a broken bone is cool....

My son's broken arm was glaringly obvious a week after the injury. lol If only he'd acted like it was broken a bit sooner....duh.
