?~Hallucinating Sunday Night~?

I was returning home, 05/25/2008 around 3:45AM. I was very tired, and falling asleep on the road. As I was driving home, a few black shadows would appear and jump in front of my car, while driving on the freeway.

I'm not sure if their intentions were for me swerve and hit another vehicle, or drive off into the ocean. Anyways, this has happened 3 to 4 times when I'm really tired and driving.

What's your opinion?

Don't drive when you are that tired. What you are describing is actually a pretty common thing for people who drive when they are too tired. Being on the road has an almost hypnotic affect and you begin to see things that aren't really there.

Yeah, Brother Alvear tried driving to tired and almost killed himself and his friend...

I am thankful we don't have freeways here. But our winding roads are horrible, I ran over an animal last night not because I was tired but because it was so dark by the time I saw it I couldn't have avoided it. It was either a very big black cat or a small black dog.:(

Not to worry. It is only the ghosts of Christmas-past, present and future. They wanted you to know it is ok to have a Christmas tree. Incase you do have one or you do use one then ignore their attempts. They must have you confused with someone else.

This is very common. Check out the movie Black Dog, it deals with driving to tired.

Have you ever thought about stand-up comedy?

:scorebad

Didn't you think your comment might be insulting to others or myself?

Bro.... I will back what everyone else has said about this probably being due to driving too tired. My husband has worked oilfield for 15 yrs and he used to be very bad about driving too tired. He has since resigned himself to pulling over no matter where he is and sleeping if he even feels one bit tired due to nearly having an accident because of it... but before when he would drive so tired he would see things very similar. Please be careful

Please don't drive when you're that tired. My children ride in vehicles on the road, I want them to get home in one piece. Driving when you're that tired is just as dangerous as driving drunk.

I agree with that.

When things such as this happen, you are way too tired to be driving.

I actually pulled over twice to take 5 minute naps. I was afraid doing this because of drunk drivers I have seen slam into vehicles parked on the side of the freeway.

I fell asleep behind the wheel on the way home from work once. I was in the slow lane, and when I woke up I was in the fast lane. I can not say how long I napped. Talk about freakin a fat man out!! YIKES!!!

It's not safe to pull to the side of the freeway but find a rest stop or store to stop at. Just a short nap can rejuvenate you enough to get you home safe.

I believe it will be my 5th year anniversary this year. A few years ago I was headed to Nevada on a early Saturday AM, I had to be in Nevada by 10AM. Well, I fell asleep on highway 15 (F.Y.I., I hate driving late night/early morning).

Well, from what I remember I felt my right foot being lifted of the gas accelerator and applying the brake pedal, that's what woke me up. When I felt this I lifted my chin from off my chest, and tried coming to my senses. By this time I was aware of my surroundings, and my car had come to a complete stop.

Traffic had come to a dead stop on highway 15 and my car had stopped around 3 inches before bulldozing into the car in front of me.

God applied the brake for me. He is so wonderful!:tissue
