One thing I don't see on this forum......

.......is threads about soul winning, revivals, testimonies, healings, etc.

How come? Am I just missing them? Another forum I used to post on extensively got to be that way, too. Yet, another forum I am a member of has threads about these things all the time.

What's the diff? Is this forum here mainly for those less essential topics, like bashing or supporting the UPC (which seems to be about 75% of the threads in this General area) or informing the members of who the latest UPC pastor was that was spotted at a sports arena or on a cruise?

Not trying to criticize; just wondering.

rgcraig 03-21-2007 06:54 AM

Check out the Sanctuary Section.

Check the Prayer Closet for testimonies too.

Do you really think Jesus thought about soul winning 24/7 ?

I did, then and just now. I don't see a Sanctuary Section. What is it above or below or near?

Another thing I believe is that you started this thread in the same vein as you accuse this forum of being.

Malvaro 03-21-2007 07:27 AM

AFF has a very wide variation of posters (lib, mod, con, etc) representing numerous views on many topics.... this is not an all-UPC forum or all-x-UPC forum and thus discussions may gravitate more towards topics that require "ongoing" conversation.... it goes to show that, for the most part, we have enough respect for the "other side" that we are willing to talk with them about mutual topics of interest....

there are threads that deal with soul winning, revivals, testimonies, healings.... just look around....

If you can't appreciate AFF for the family we are, I'm sorry....

OGIA - have you found the other areas yet?

Give me a break, Jesus was practical.

Yes his purpose was to be a gift of God to man.

But he ate, slept, drank, fellowshipped with sinners, etc.

But to totally be obsessed, thinking about soul winning 24/7 is not human.

His mind rested of thoughts and he got sleep like the rest of us.

If you feel to be a 24/7 soul winner go for it.

Most folks I have met that have this soul winning or bust attitude, just make it hard to live with.

After a while it's like, Shut UP!:ignore

Coop - be reasonable. Of course we know that Jesus slept. However, I believe you can have the "thought" or desire to save others in the back of your mind all the time.

Look at it like this - go about your daily life, but be aware that at any time you can meet someone to reach out to. That's what I think Jesus was like.

It's like loving your children - - you love them all the time, but you don't "think" about how you love them constantly.

Tina 03-21-2007 07:40 AM

If you don't see enough of those kinds of threads to suit you.... You can always START some of those kinds of threads.

Check out the threads by Bro Steadfast. He had a wonderful testimony of a move of God in his church a couple of weeks ago.

My link is set to the home page of AFF, rgcraig. I followed your link, which is where my link leads me, but I have yet to see the Sanctuary Section. Honest, I do not see it. Again, where is it located in relation to the Fellowship forum?

It is a heading The Sanctuary and does not have a bulletin board in front of it. First there is The Foyer, then The Sanctuary, then The Fellowship Hall.

I did. I do see the one Steadfast started over 2 weeks ago. I guess I didn't look back far enough. (thank you, rgcraig, for linking it!)

Don't be sorry. I appreciate AFF for what it is, and I am learning more each day what it is. I simply remarked that there are very few threads about certain topics of importance to Apostolics, while every other thread focuses on the UPC, either for or against.

rgcraig 03-21-2007 08:58 AM

Also, a hint.

If you like a particular poster - you can look at their profile (Members List) and click on all the threads they have started.

Might give you new reading material.

You sound like a negative whiner.

In the last week ALONE I have started four threads totally unrelated to the topics you whine about.

1. Do you believe in predetermination?
2. The Difference Between Worry and Concern.
3. Unnecessary Obstacles to Christ.
4. What Happened at Church Today?

I wonder how many times you posted on those threads?

All I ever see you posting about is liberal/conservative ideologies.

We like to talk about a little bit of everything around here. These are great people. If you don't like what we have to say, refute it - or leave.

BoredOutOfMyMind 03-21-2007 09:05 AM

OGIA, Thanks for the question.

We trust you can find something here that suits you, or you can enhance something to help others.

These rants go in waves and we are due any moment to have another TV/Hair type thread.

I totally disagree. I think to be Apostolic and NOT think about winning souls 24/7 is odd. JMO.

Lol...so true!

Waves also entail who is posting. We can go for days with more conservative posters, then the pendulum swings to more liberals posters. Ya just never know from one day to the next what the winds will carry. :winkgrin

If certain threads annoy you have the option of putting them on IGNORE. That way you don't even see them.
