UPC pastor's wife refuses to wear hair up anymore!
 
I talked to a well known pastor's wife the other day who told me that she was traveling and while she was waiting for a connecting flight, she noticed the news on CNN was about FLDS when suddenly she said to herself " O NO I LOOK JUST LIKE THEM!!!!"

She immediatley went to the restroom and took her hair down.

she indeed wears long skirts and a bun on her head with the plain looking front swoop.


Folks, I am not making this up. this is exactly what she told me. she didn't want people thinking she was a pologamist!!!!

Obviously one more that has "gone charismatic".

Is she going to buy a TV next since the FLDS folks don't have them?

Do you think we'll see more UPC women who are a little paranoid about this association or what ??

some of the up styles don't necessarily look like th ones the mormons are wearing either. you have to consider that too, but when they wear it like the frontier covered wagon days..... I have to admit it kinda does lol

we don't have any women that like like those pioneer looking women in our church and yes they wear dresses or skirts and uncut hair

I think for the most part UPC women DO NOT look like that.

However, it is regional and some do.

I don't believe the words "holiness glow" were ever used. But she sure has the Holy Ghost glow. And she's modestly stylish.

I wouldnt be caught dead looking like the ladies from the FLDS either however... thankfully I can say I dont know a single UC apostolic nor UPC lady from this part of Tx that looks like that at all.. Remember we are in Dallas... you find pretty much very classy women here and none that try to look as homely as possible.

You can live with a love for the Lord and hold within yourself a standard of holiness without looking like that and I am pleased to say thats how it is around here.

And where I shop... I aint seen none of them ungodly horrid jumpers them ladies wear yep... that bees class aight.... NOT!!!!

This is an interesting story. I must say that you really have a thing for standards. This is like the 2nd or 3rd thread that you have posted about them in the last couple of days.

And why would that be? I noticed at my daughters school today there were at least 15 women with hair longer than mine and not one of them apostolic as a matter of fact I know half of them to be catholic for fact...

Long hair is the thing right now and you see it more and more out... so why should we be more paranoid about it?

Its the ones who have left standards who are paranoid about it pretty much only... the rest dont care. I have had more women than I can count in the world come to me and ask me how I got my hair to grow so long.. when I tell them I was totally bald 5 yrs ago they about pass out...

I think there are plenty of Pentecostal women who adore their long uncut hair. The Reider-Harveyites even see it as bringing them power. They also have it pounded in their heads that their long uncut hair is their "glory".

So I don't think a few cult members looking like them is going to discourage these Pentecostal women.

I have even heard that some think they have more power over the angels because it is uncut. I guess in some way they combine it with Samson and 1 Cor. I think I hear Stoneking teach something like that before, but it was from a tape at least more than 10 yrs ago.
