Yes. One in Tennessee and two in California. I keep a close watch on these kids of mine.
And I keep my eyes wide open all the time. :)

Oh, and I went fishing tonight with LR. She caught a bluegill and a sunny. Threw the sunny back.

I caught a 15 inch small mouth bass.

I think I'm starting to outfish her. :D

My kids are up watching the news with me. We have tornado warnings here, but its a little east of us now, and I think more wind than funnel....(according to the weather dudes). We live too far out to hear sirens, so I usually have to watch the news to keep track, or keep refreshing at National Weather Service online....

Ha! Actually, the weather is morbidly fascinating to me. I think if Jeff would let me, I'd be a Storm Chaser. :D I have the hardest time staying indoors and away from windows--I love to watch the clouds move in!

I saw a really neat Discovery Channel program (awhile ago) where they built a vehicle that could drive right into the center of a tornado and record all kinds of data (with people still in it)! I think that would be AWESOME--as long as I knew for a FACT (or at least 99% certainty) that it would actually withstand the twister, and I'd live to tell the tale.

I just came in from coffee & donuts with a brother.

I love storms, I have slept through a tornado twice, and actually have seen one and kind of followed it to Wal Mart where the police were directing everyone to go, once inside the store you were to go into the big freezers. Thankfully it didn't touch down.

Of course I know where they are. Both daughters are at youth camp. Hopefully letting the poor counselor in the girls dorm get some sleep. Most of the other counselors left tonight, and the one counselor has about 40 girls left in the dorm. I'm so thankful that I'm not that counselor. :D

My son is sleeping... finally. He stayed up waiting till I came home from working at camp because he wanted a bedtime story. He fell asleep about halfway through the book.

I need to be heading to bed myself... I have to be back at 9am tomorrow to start dorm cleanup and get things ready for junior camp next week.

Haha, I'm imagining people being sucked up by a tornado and shaken about while inside a coffin-like freezer...that would rattle your bones! And it makes me feel a bit claustrophobic to think about it.

I was in Wal-Mart during a tornado warning once, too--they directed us to the bedding/pillow aisles. Maybe they didn't have freezers.

They were serious. I think they are very well constructed and reinforced steel or something. I really did not want to go inside, thankfully I didn't have to. I would rather see it coming I think. Maybe a little.

Well, it actually makes sense. Probably much better than pillows and blankets. Sort of like a little safe room.

Cindy 06-05-2008 11:57 PM

Re: It's Midnight. Do U Know Where Your Children A

Yep, reinforced steel would be a lot heavier than a pillow and blanket.

Yep. The terrible thing is I don't remember the last time I relaxed in it.

This quarter in school I have spend most of my time on the couch with the laptop. In fact, between posts I have been working on my research paper on homeschooling. Had to turn in a rough draft tonight of it.

Maybe when this quarter is over (in two weeks), I will spend some time on the chaise.

I am hoping when we get our new place to replace some OLD furniture. If HE gets a new recliner I should get a new chaise. Yep, that should work.
