Libs vs. Cons Golf Outing!

I'm wondering if there's enough interest in having an AFF Libs vs. Cons golf outing? If there's enough interest, we could plan a day of fun and fellowship!

Of course this doesn't apply to those cons that think golf is of the devil! :slaphappy

Is wagering allowed??!! :winkgrin

Digging4Truth 03-21-2007 03:52 PM

The last time I played golf was in the 1990's. After the game I gave away my clubs. My pastor asked "do you have a conviction against golf?"

To which I replied... "I certainly do... anybody that can't play any better than that doesn't have any business playing golf.... and that is my stern conviction"

:)

Whole Hearted 03-21-2007 03:54 PM

I don't golf.

Tell me where it would be and I will pay 19 hole round for rkentsmith. As long as he lets me drive the golf cart. He best bring his own seatbelt.

It this were serious I would fly to where ever and join in...

The 19th hole will be the CON-LIB sudden death elimination hole.

Nathan Eckstadt

That's very similar to how other convictions got started! :)

I'm all for that! Any city that has cheap airline tickets to visit! :)

We could make it a four man scramble. (4 libs and 4 cons)

You full well know that I am up for such an event... Now as for the spanking... on old coach used to say "do it THEN talk about it!":tiphat :slaphappy

philjones 03-21-2007 04:18 PM

Now we all know that Carp is a bit confused and convoluted so I vote that he play nine holes for the libs first and if he is having a bad day he continues to play for them. If he is on he then plays nine for the Cons!:slaphappy :toofunny

ha! Not neccessarily! Women get to drive from the red tees, which can be an advantage in a scramble! Of course, the con women must wear skirts to golf in! (not those short ones either!) :)

Yeah.... I can see that could be so. Since some of them come from the "I don't care for it so let's call it a sin" place

This is not a time to be wishy washy! The mods will have to be pigeon holed one way or the other! :)

StillStanding 03-21-2007 04:34 PM

OK! Possibilities so far:

Cons team:
Phil Jones

Libs team:
Carpenter
Pianoman
Necktadt?

So what do the Lib women get to wear???

The Lib women will have to play in the second foursome so the Con's won't have to see them.

The Mods will be permitted to look around from time to time. :)

I guess I am going to have to get Landy Ewing to come play for the Con team (no offense Bro. Epley but he is a Con by their standards) :) Plus, he is a +1.3 handicap! ;)

Scott Hutchinson 03-21-2007 04:53 PM

Scott Hutchinson 03-21-2007 05:04 PM

Bishop Williams could proably help them, he might be considered lib but he ain't no PCI view man he strictly holds to a water and spirit viewpoint.

I have worshiped at his church and broken bread with He and Bishop Smith. He is unlike many of the others in another way... He NEVER taught separation and was not taught the water and spirit view point by anyone. He told me that he got a revelation and began preaching it. He said he never did get a revelation about the standards.:winkgrin

Well wheter one agrees with Bishop Williams or not he has always been kind to me.And you'll never hear him preach trinity.

Bro. Scott,

I certainly was not knocking Bishop Williams! I have greater respect for him than I do for those who preached it hot, hard and heavy for 15 or 20 years and then suddenly got a revelation that all of that was unnecessary!

He certainly has been kind to me and I have never known him to mistreat anyone!

Did you know Bro. Jody B. that was there for a season?
