It finally happened....

Earlier this evening, I was finishing praise band rehearsal at the church I work at, and the thought hit me. "I think I'll go to Love and Truth this evening." Here I was, all prepared to enjoy an evening of worship with all the good folks at Love and Truth. I arrived thinking how wonderful it will be just to sit back, and bask in the Lords love. As I was walking to the entrance, a young man stopped me and said, "Sorry, no church tonight." HUH?...NO CHURCH?!?!? He must be off his rocker I thought. Or maybe he was from the government and they have stopped all church services on Wed. evenings.
Im sure I looked perplexed because he smiled and said, "Vacation Bible School." Well that made perfectly good sense....The CHILDREN had taken over the church!!!! I laughed, he laughed and invited me back. SO....on goes my journey to attned Love and Truth in Jackson....One day it will happen!!
Blessings Eddie and Sherri
and Phillip....
and Parrish....
etc....:happydance

They wouldn't let you help with refreshments? We live in a small town and I would go from church to church and help serve refreshments, because all churches had different schedules. They always appreciated the help. :)

Most churches could use extra help with VBS.

Hadn't even thought of that. I feel old now.
Well, our town is very small and most of us aren't strange. I do understand though, and this was back when my kids were young.

Yes it is. But we have to protect the young and innocents as much as possible.

Speaking of VBS
when my next to the youngest was about 4, so about 8 years ago, I stayed to help his class because he was not happy about being their. They had a snack time where they baked these rolls of dough they had wrapped around a marshmellow and then rolled in cinnamon. They compared the marshmellow to Jesus and the dough to the tomb and when they opened them up when they ate them the marshmellow was gone and they compared that to the resurection.
Well in their actual lesson that night they were asking the kids questions during the lesson to help reinforce the learning process and the teacher asked what happened to Jesus after they buried him in the tomb. Then she encouraged an answer by saying what happened to the marshmellow in your treat?
One little girl got so excited and started yelling I know I know. They asked her what happened to Jesus and she yelled out "He melted"
I was kicked out of the class and asked not to return.
I still get a good laugh out of that one every now and then

Steve, I can't believe you finally showed up and I was relaxing at HOME!!! LOL! You'll have to come back another time. Wednesday nights are awesome. If you had gone on in Wed. though, you would have found Philip T., since his wife is over VBS all week. She has him working too!

If you show up this next week, I will not be there (out of town), but be sure and introduce yourself to Eddie as one of my imaginary friends. He will know you're from AFF!

The scary thing is that even small towns aren't safe anymore. I have just been torn up over those little 11 and 13 year old girls in rural Oklahoma that were shut multiple times Sunday walking down a rural road near their little town of 1,000 people.

Now they are saying they were shot with more than one gun so they believe there are at least two killers.

Those little girls were only out of touch for 25 minutes before the ones grandfather started looking for them and found them dead in a ditch just 1/4 mile from home.
