I love the Lord because...

...when I was in my most unloveable state...an absolute and utter wretch undone, He yet loved me with a love I cannot begin to describe or understand.

Why do you love Him?!

Fonix 03-22-2007 04:45 PM

I love God because he shows me new mercy everyday. Even if there was no heavenly reward foir living for him I wouldnt change my life one bit. Living for him in the greatest thing in my life

Nahum 03-22-2007 04:47 PM

I love him because He allows me to. Life is good.

StillStanding 03-22-2007 04:50 PM

I love Him because He has been so patient with me! I've been so reluctant to trust Jesus; yet He never left me. When I thought I was completely alone - that no one else in the world really understood my plight, Jesus was here with me, just loving & caring about me. I think I've finally learned to depend on Jesus -- not people. It's taken me many years to figure this out for myself. (Before it was head-knowledge... now it's HEART-knowledge!)

He saved me and has given me the ability and desire to.

Barb 03-22-2007 06:33 PM

I love the Lord
He heard my cry
And pitied every groan
Long as I live
While troubles rise
I'll hasten to His throne

[QUOTE=Barb;49458][B][CENTER]I love the Lord
[QUOTE]

I love him because of who He is...merciful, longsuffering, kind, gentle, good, though He is high and lofty, He is near them who are lowly and of a contrite spirit, he despises not any...He is all and everything that I would want in a God and more...He is more than wonderful to me.

I love the Lord because he has been faithful to me when I haven't been!

After a rough evening, the next morning my 6yr old daughter gave me a note with a pretty little picture she drew and it said...

"Daddy, sorry for all the rong things I did."

I cannot describe or explain the love and endearment and tears I had for my precious baby that very moment, it made my limbs weak and I am getting all emotional just reliving it.

If it is at all comparable to the love my Jesus has for me when I submit myself to him, I wouldn't be able to do anything but love him back for that...wow.

Scott Hutchinson 03-22-2007 09:01 PM

I love Him because He shed His blood for me.

HE loved me, a 15 yr old boy that was so unlovable, despised, and rejected by family, an outcast to society..

I love HIM....

Barb 03-23-2007 01:05 AM

All of these responses are so wonderful...I hope others chime in...

LaVonne 03-23-2007 08:36 AM

I love Him because He first loved me! Jesus loves me so much that he adopted me into His family and calls me His child.

MrsMcD 03-23-2007 09:26 AM

I love the Lord because he loves me even when I am undeserving of his love.

Felicity 03-23-2007 09:34 AM

Well we all say we love the Lord and there are lots of reasons why we should but sometimes I choke on the words when I go to say them and I wonder if I'm not just mouthing words without really stopping to think what I'm saying and what this "love" I'm professing really looks like to Him.

Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him. Do you ever hear the Lord asking you the same thing? ;) :)

Glenda B 03-23-2007 09:53 AM

But Peter......Do You Really Love Me?

Esther 03-23-2007 10:00 AM

I love Him so much I just really want to see Him. I want a huge big hug from Him that I know I can never have. :friend

He is God and God is love.

He is worthy of love.

My problem is receiving all His love.

I love Him because He is my friend I can talk to about anything.

Yes...absolutely!! But I think speaking them...in this case writing them, allows for reflection on the reasons why I do love. When I stop to think about who He is and what He gave so that I might live eternally with Him...it almost is too much for the human mind to comprehend.

When I think of the reasons I love Him (in my own totally insufficient way) I get so overwhelmed! I get overtaken with emotion. I've tried to express my feelings a few times and just quit because words seem so inadequate somehow.

I know, girl...these words just dropped in my spirit when I read your post...

When I think about the Lord
How He saved me...How He raised me
How He filled me with the Holy Ghost
How He healed me to the uttermost

When I Think about the Lord
How He picked me up and turned me around
How He placed my feet on solid ground

It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah...thank you JESUS
Lord, you're worthy of all the glory
And all the honor and all the praise

It makes me wanna shout...!!

Ronzo 03-23-2007 04:50 PM

I love the Lord because he thinks like me and hates who I hate.

*tongue in cheek*

How can we not love Someone who knows us better than anyone and yet still loves us? I love Him because He gives me permission to be who I am without constantly reminding me of who I'm not. Yet, He is always there to encourage me to be the best me that I can possibly be.

Excellent post, Elder...:thumbsup

Barb 03-24-2007 05:17 AM

I love the Lord because He woke me up this morning, with health and strength and the activity of my limbs and a reasonable portion of a right mind.

A songwriter once said, "though I made plans for this very day, death could have come in the night to take me away..."

I am so aware that it is not my goodness or cuteness or anything else that has done this, but the grace and mercy of a good and loving God...

So for this today, I say, I Love you, Lord...with all of my heart and with all of my soul...!!

I love this song...I cry every time I hear it!

I remember a time when I could not tell the Lord that I loved him...I wasn't sure if I really meant it, so I never said it. I'll never forget the day that I was able to tell Him that I loved Him and really, really meant it.

RevDWW 03-24-2007 11:19 AM

Why wouldn't I love Him, when he loves someone like me!

How can you not love someone who is ever true and never reneges on a promise?
