Please pray! Death of young man from church
 

Please keep a couple of families in our church and our entire church family in your prayers. We had very shocking news this morning . A young man from our church and another man who worked with him were found dead on the streets in our town this morning. They believe it was an attempted robbery as he owned a christian recording studio in Garland. Very sad and very young men.

Garland is a very very safe town... I have lived here off and on for 30 yrs and our church is 2 min from where the homicide happened and its just mind boggling. I have talked to several from our church today and they are very shook up... not just at the death but because its so quiet here and really close to home!

Thank you all for the prayers! I will pass this thread on to the family at a later date so that they can see the condolences as well. This is indeed a sad day here. A shock to a church and a city.

This is so sad... the more we hear and see it just breaks my heart. Ron I did forget to add this but he also had 2 little children. Not sure on their ages but they were very young. A lot of our youth were very close to them and are very shaken by this also so please keep them in your prayers too

Just heard they have found the 1995 Crown Victoria that belonged to Steven
Swan, in East Texas and three men have been arrested.

We are praying for these families.
We know Matt and his mother from another church we all attended. He was in the youth with our kids at Metro Church several years ago. What a waste, the evil one doing what he is about, "...to kill, to steal and to destroy..." Thank God the evil one's actions are not final and God has given the victory.
Reminds us that this life is transition and not our ultimate destination.

I saw this story last night on the fox news channell.Greta Van Susteren interviewed Matts spouse.I knew that she had to be Pentecostal by her long hair and how she looked(she looked very nice).She had a wonderful attitude and spirit for having just lost her husband.

Yeah, I saw the video clip on the link that AG shared on this thread and the wife appeared to have peace that only comes from the Father. In a time like this, it's good to know the Comforter!

With the hair and all what? Yes they are Pentecostal but most of all they are Christians. Maybe that explains the sweet spirit even in the midst of tragedy.

Let me clarify what I was saying.I was flipping thru the channels and started watching the story on Fox news and they were showing pictures of the family and my first thought was that they looked Pentecostal and so I watched the show and was impressed w/her spirit and attitude.Now you don't have to attack the long hair thing.

I am glad that they caught the punks who did it, but it is time to really start punishing people so this kind of thing does not happen. I am tired of good people being victimized needlessly, and the lives of children being so greatly altered at the beginning. I don't want to start a conversation and do anything that would alter the thread. I just had to say that. But I will continue to pray for this family, that God will give them peace in the midst of their storm, and that those children and the wife will become greater than ever.

His wife is indeed a beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit and I am sure they all thank you for the prayers!!! This has been a shock to everyone who knew them. It is still even such a shock to the whole community.
