Elder Joe Rowley has a church in the area. He just built a new sanctuary.

You may not feel like going to church in the evening if you are out sightseeing all day.

It's a bit of a challenge with the three kids... but really that's the whole idea. I have not spent this much time with them and Kristin in a long, long while.

Bro. Hoover it is highly commendable that you would be considering going to 2 services Sunday on your vacation. I salute you and your family.

LOL!

Not quite sure how to take this post, but we often do attend church - even on vacation.

Oh, right. We will probably choose between the two since Orlando is several hrs from here.

Eureka,

That COP church in Ft. Lauderdale sounds interesting. To have gone from eight members to over 400 over the last fifteen years or so is quite an accomplishment in reaching a city for Christ.

Apparently the Pastors wife is a recording artist also so the music is probably good.

Have you ever watched Jon&Kate Plus Eight. They have twins and sextuplets. They took them all to Disneyworld.

Bro Elms is a well respected man too. He is younger than you, but I believe a graduate of JCM (or whatever it was called)

I can't imagine! One of the ways my parents could swing nine kids was by NOT taking us to disney!

I never had a soda until I was sixteen!

BTW - we really did have all we needed - just not any luxuries. :)

I think you would like Mike Williams' church in Apopka. It's supposedly really beautiful, and I'm sure it's good services.

I'll make it a third.

Just finished a lot of new buildings and renovations.

The address is Lake Pleasant but it's actually right on 441 North of Orlando.

Of course I'm biased, grow up there and related to half the church by blood or marriage. :-)

Well, we were allowed one soda every two weeks as well as a small bag of penny candy. Other than that it was mama's cooking, iced tea or milk.

It is amazing how the expectations change with each generation. When my wife and I were first married and struggling financially we ate a lot of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese out of a box and fried bologna.

Now when my daughter and her husband are struggling I notice they are still eating out at Chili or Applebees at least several times a week (they do share meals there but........)

I know.....Zac and his friends go out to eat at places like O'Charley's, Red Lobster. At that age, I ate at BURGER BARN!!!!

At JCM if we went to Danvers instead of Krystals that was a luxury! All of our eating out money had to be saved for Wed and Sunday nights to go to Shoney's to socialize.

lol I know that's right.

I loved fried bologna sandwiches when I was a kid. We ate a lot of sweet potatoes, pinto beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes when we were struggling. And we also had 2 huge pecan trees at one time, I never knew there were so many ways to use pecans. :)

I visited the church pastored by Bro. Mike Williams a few years ago while on
a Disney World vacation. It was a great service. I attended the Sunday night
service.

Or El Burrito's or Pasquales.......sometimes even Western Sizzlin' if we were feelin' really rich! I remember in Bible College going to Burger King and they had an all you could eat salad bar for 69 cents. I ate that so many times! It was just lettuce, cheese and tomatoes with dressing, but it was 69 cents!!!!!!

We went to Cathedral of Pentecost in Ft Lauderdale this morning and enjoyed it very much. It obvoiusly is a progressive and growing church - very spirited and vibrant.

Bro Elms's B-I-L Daniel Hood preached. I think that means they married sisters. What was these ladies' maiden name, does anyone know?

We considered going to the assembly wher Bro Williams is pastor, but would have been late getting there. We also had a rather lengthy late afternoon service at Boston LobsterFest! :happydance

Melanie Elms and Lori Hood are Brother Billy Hale's daughters.
