Prayer for my back again please
 

I went to my spine Dr. today and we have come to a course of definite action for now... I am scared but I know he is pretty much the best there is and have placed my trust in God, him and well... he didnt mess Ferd up too bad ;) (had to lighten it up a lil)

On Tues I will have another Facet block.. too hard to explain all of this stuff so if anyone is interested pm me or google it plz :)

Then instead of 2-3 week check ups I will go in every week for 3 months (the amount of time they have to wait between procedures

if the pain continues then happy happy joy joy.. if not then exactly 3 months later he will do a second Facet Block (2nd one has to be done for next thing to happen via insurance)

If this does not work within 10 days then he will do a procedure which he cuts and burns all the nerves to my L4 L5 and then if that does not work....

See we are working with 2 different injuries.. I have severed nerves causing Facet issues and I have 2 totally ripped disc's

If all of the above does not work he will do a procedure which he keeps me awake and cuts into the back and puts air into the disc and tests the amount pf pain that causes. If thats the source of the pain they will then go to surgery.

Instead of doing a fusion which was pretty much the only option there is a new surgery out for discectomy that instead of fusing it they go in and clip the disc and deflate it... causing there to be no major incision and also the recovery time is about half that of the other.

I am scared but I am also relieved that we are getting somewhere. When the second injury occured in the midst of fixing the first thing it kind of threw us all off track and its made this such a long process... I am just so thankful for my 2 wonderful doctors who are working to make this go as quickly as possible and for their knowledge.. They are awesome!!!

I is tryin! The pain isnt near as much as it was at the beginning. I have been drowned in physical therapy until I think I am just numb from it LOL... its over now so some of the pain is coming back because even tho I do the same stuff at home its just not the same!

I am just excited we are getting somewhere!

I know and thanks Ron, its just really a very simple procedure its just that the first one I had they were unable to start an IV so I had to have it done totally awake and it is really freaky to feel them make the tiny 4 incisions and then the huge needle that goes in the middle of those and well I will save the rest of the details but feelin it gives a new light on it! And I am SKEEERED! lol

I am home... it went ok I think,. Right now I am still feeling like someone is ripping my ribs out of my throat but I think that will go away soon... Cant walk cant hardly move but supposedly this is par for the first 48 hrs. I felt wonderful the first hour. Then this kicked in. The dr said this is usually a good sign... so we are praying. I do not remember the first time I had this done how it felt because I got the flu the same day so I was so sick from it I didnt know what was the effects of which LOL

thank you all for the prayers! Its been another rough day but they say the first 2 or 3 are always this way... other than my ribs being ripped outta my throat I think I am actually feeling better. The back pain seems minimal compared to what it has been so I think we are getting somewhere LOL...

Now if I could just drive we would be doing good... going nuts trying to figure out how to get errands done around here LOL

I want to thank you all again for the prayers and I do not want to sound whiney but I have one more thing to ask those of you who have been praying, to pray about. Its now been 3 days... I am still not able to eat... or move like I should... still get real dizzy.. its probably the meds and the eating is probably because of the amount of steroid injected but it normally makes one eat more... but as my dr said I seem to always be the exception to the rules LOL... I am down to taking my pain meds only about twice a day which is a good sign this is working!!! But when I wake up its like someone has stuck a crow bar thru my spine... he said thats the feeling one should get from the procedure so I am thinking this is just still pain from that that will go away soon... But the thing is.. as yall know when someone is genuinely hungry... not just eating to eat... its painful when you cant for days... I cant even drink without getting sick to my stomach...

Thanks so much for the prayers... yep I am sure all the weight I am losing will do me good but it could have happened at a better time LOL
