They're claiming 16 people have been raised from the dead. Here's one of them....judge for yourself:

Mark,
Is the use of the phrase behind the three letters OMG, a phrase that acknowledges God?

When you hear people use it, do you think they are connecting with their God?

...just some cranky-free' wondering from the mid-Atlantic region

I see nothing in the video that would make an unbeliever or skeptic believe it or want to believe it.

She was only "dead" for 45 minutes but her body was cold as ice? Did she die in a refridgerator?

I came to the thread following the prompts that the title stirred in my spirit.

I guess I was more concerned about our causalness with speech than wacky mythological devil worship.

Sorry, if your very purposed use of thread titles brought an unintended reaction in me.

Fault finding? Please Marky, take that poor-me 'tripe' to the next house, nobody's buying that here.

before I pray your strength....
could you tell me what your spirit is responding to when you use the phrase OMG or the actual spoken words.....Oh MY GOD.

I'm sorry. People are absolutely gullible and completely without discernment. This gives a black eye to true Christianity.

Actually Mark, I have to agree. Using the name of God as an exclamation is not right.

My opinon is, it takes a while to completely drain a body of enough blood to die from it. Believe me it doesn't happen from a vampire sucking blood.

I didn't watch the video. I will give you my opinion on Todd Bentley however. He is a quack.

And a dangerous one. The sad thing is, he shows how stupid people are. Well meaning but absolutely ignorant. Barnum was correct. One is born every minute. Makes we want to pray and study more.

They sound like they are from the Islands. Some of those communities and cultures are so much into mysticism and spriritualism that it carries over into their "Christianity".

Dumb thread about another so-called preacher who is looking to get rich in the long run.

The "OMG" is actually a violation of the commandment to not take the name of the Lord in vain. Study it out. Not using such phrases has nothing to do with being "super holy" or "religious" but is merely rightly dividing the Word.

I do agree - though I have used it in that context a few times myself.

Now... Is it not true that there are certain preachers who use it routinely in their preaching?

Re: killed by vampire raised from Dead@ Lakeland!

OMG. OMG is not the name of God. His name is Jesus! StMark did not title OMJ! What is the big deal. It is not a cursing. If we need to curse we could say, "Judas Priest" and curse his name.

I don't believe anything out of Lakeland. This guy is a serious nut, a confessed child molestor--he was 17 and his victim was 7. If he repented then God can forgive, but when it came out years later he denied it until he was confronted with his own "confession."

Anyone should be able to judge this "revival." But you can't judge by "Miracles." God is merciful and is always willing to perform miracles. He heals by faith--if you believe in him and his miracle working power then you can receive a miracle. But that does not validate the minister or the movement. That error goes back to Branhamism. You must judge the "revival" by the word that is preached. And Bently--in my opinion--is preaching NO Word. He rarely takes a Bible to the pulpit!!

Very poor arguement. There are many swear words that use God's name in vain without saying Jesus.

Hey... this could lead to a discussion on baptism... :)

Maybe for you it isn't but at our house we don't allow OMG. I somehow doubt that the Jews were being told to refrain from using the name Jesus in vain. Whatever name people use to refer to God ought to be kept sacred. I have heard preachers say things like, "My God, son, what were you thinking." It was no different than when my Grandfather said it, it was still taking the name in vain, IMO.
