Most Men can seldom accept...

I find this old qoute of Tolstoy very wise:
__________________________________________________ ___________

TOLSTOY: MOST MEN ... CAN SELDOM ACCEPT EVEN THE SIMPLEST AND MOST OBVIOUS TRUTH IF IT OBLIGES THEM TO ADMIT THE FALSITY OF CONCLUSIONS WHICH THEY HAVE DELIGHTED IN EXPLAINING TO COLLEAGUES, WHICH THEY HAVE PROUDLY TAUGHT TO OTHERS, AND WHICH THEY HAVE WOVEN, THREAD BY THREAD, INTO THE FABRIC OF THEIR LIVES.
__________________________________________________ __________

Do you find any thing of worth in the thoughts of this man ?

Sure, you'll seldom get someone to see and agree with your point of view by attacking theirs.

When someone is put into a defensive stance it's hard to get them out of it!

I believe that I have lived long enough to be proud enough, to be chastised enough, to be humiliated enough, and to be forgiven enough to live this out.

It never ceases to amaze me who God chooses to bring forth nuggets of truth as Tolstoy when he penned these words.

Yes, if you wish to persuade someone; leave them an exit they can walk through with dignity.

Always allow the other person to save face.

Very well said.

Does this apply even under harsh cross examination?

Jesus always allows people to make their own choices, and He never forces us to make the correct one.

An awesome truth! I agree with Newman. Some actually realize a truth, but will NEVER admit it because there is no dignified way out. To admit it would probably bring scorn from their circle of friends.

He never chooses an opinion; he just wears whatever happens to be in style.

I win folks over everyday in Telecommunications moving them to new Technology.

By showing them the Benefits, return on investment and how it applies to their business needs.

So why then when we have the healing for the human soul we keep silent?

If you are going to show a point of view then know your point of view.

Bring your point out point by point.

Gathering small acceptances along the road of communication.

The problem many have today in business, politics and religion.

We start with the entire bag we have to sell, we start with the sore points in politics and we start with Jesus name baptism in the first breath.

Start with the Cross and walk them down the road to salvation.

The Lord will convict the heart of man at the foot of the Cross.

Not at the steps of the Baptismal tank....
