Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
My co-worker just sent this to me, the e-mail itself is irrelevant to the conversation, we were just cracking up at the apparently apostolic "sanitizing" of the e-mail!!
This is what she sent me: I think an Apostolic must have originally written this. Pay attention to the first line... =D (Content not verified) This should give us something to think about. Subject: U. S. "no longer a Christian Nation" Dear Friends, As I was listening to a news program last night, I watched in horror as Barack Obama made the statement with pride. . ."we are no longer a Christian nation; we are now a nation of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, . . . :toofunny :toofunny :toofunny |

Too funny.

Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
Some will not get the joke...it will take several times reading it to get it....don't worry if at first you don't get it....it is coming to a pew near you.

Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
I am apparently too old and too slow.

Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
Let me try this again,
the first line of the e-mail says this: As I was listening to a news program last night, I watched in horror as Barack Obama made the statement with pride. . Apparently someone tried to sanitize it for the non-TV crowd, but didn't quite follow through... It was funny when I first read it... |
Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!

LOL!
Reminds me of a couple of Sundays ago when our Pastor said, "I was watching Fox News the other day....looong pause......on the internet...." You could hear the gasps throughout the audience. (Guess I just opened another can of worms, huh?):heeheehee I attend one of those "no T.V's internet is ok" churches.:whistle |

Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
Wait for it...LOL! yay me! I finally got it. Had to read a few times. I bet they really were horrified when they discovered they sent it without changing "watched" to "listened" LOL! :toofunny LaGirl's mom told me once that back in the 60's when it was really preached against, she used to drag her big heavy TV into the back bedroom when the pastor was coming over! now it's not even preached against at our church.
One of our older saints used to sit for my hubby's g'ma and we were all in the living room one day with the TV on and "The Bachelor" came on. I cringed b/c I was thinking Sis. UPC would say something about it. She looked at me and said "I just love this show!" LOLOLOL! Meanwhile, my hubby's lil Baptist g'ma was like "Just look at this mess". HA! |

Yes, I must admit....I too have "listened" to quite a few shows. It was amazing at what I "saw" LOL:ursofunny:evilglee |
Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
Agreed, too funny!
The ? is, how many closet TV viewers are there? I know there are preachers w/TV in their home. Several years ago sat in living room of a DS, and there was a TV on.....with a VHS tape playing a service. Interesting that the internet got a free pass. My dad bought our TV when I was 6 or 7. Most of the church folks had one, Except for the pastor.... |
Re: Hilarious Apostolic Editing!!
I have a T.V., I pay for cable, my wife watches it, I don't. I have too much of a life to watch T.V., yet not too busy to keep me away from AFF.

oops! LOL!

If the DS that you are referring to had a "TV" that would actually play TV shows, and you know for a fact that they did watch TV on it, then OK. But as you stated it, it sounds like they had a TV set that they used to play videos on. Draw your distinction where you want, mock the inconsistency, whatever, but don't make untrue statements. Unless this DS was hooked up to cable, it is a near impossibility for him to get "TV" on his "TV". |
