PPH destroys books authored by WWPF?- Rieder next?
 

In December this poster asked if the org ... namely the PPH would stop selling books and materials authored by leaders of the newly formed WWPF.

A very reliable source has indicated that as of a few weeks ago the PPH has begun to destroy books authored by LB and CC. Apparently they will no longer be stocking these books. The PPH website still shows some materials on their website... however this seems to be the recourse taken.

This type of selective sanitizing/censorship/business decision is not new to the org. NAU allegedly had P. Dugas' books removed from the shelves for personal reasons. Also some materials by Tommy Tenney were nixed too ... when he left the org in the 90's.

Other materials and works have seen the axed or sanitized in the past for various other reasons.

Interestingly enough, TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer and Rick Warren still have a home w/ PPH.

Would the org pull Reider's or Jasinki's books if questions about holy hair would persist and their was enough of a clamor?

Destroyed books? That they are financially liable for, or, in which they have invested? Hardly, if they have the inventory. If it is a matter of just being a middleman distributor with no inventory on hand, they would just de-list them. If there is a low volume of these books being sold, they wouldn't be missing much mark-up value. If these are high volume items, they wouldn't let go of that revenue, if indeed they are in supposed financial straits.

Definitely not good business however ... I believe they may have rights to these materials thru WAP.

I remember several years ago asking a high ranking official of the UPC why the PPH didn’t stock Tommy Tenney’s books, while T.D. Jakes, John Maxwell, Rick Warren and others are being sold. The answer was Tommy Tenney walked away from truth and it would send the wrong message to our young ministers.

So when you walk away from the UPC, you walk away from truth, as long as you were never in truth, your books and materials are ok. Sounds like a bunch of religious politics to me.

The PPH is losing a half a million dollars a year, nearly 3 million dollars in the hole and they are destroying books, sounds foolish.

We are the way, truth and life, no man can comes to the Father but by the UPC.
We will tell you what you can read and not read.

That is insane!!!! Support a "false prophet" like Rick Warren, but excommunicate someone in the TRUTH simply because they don't agree with your man-made organization?

RR would have to walk away from truth first before they pull her books, but wait is she a license minister with the UPC? I don't think it counts if your ex husband walks away.

The magic hair doctrine didn't work according to her little story on page 69 of "Power Before The Throne". The woman in her story trimmed her hair and lost her husband because of adultery, RR didn't trim her hair and divorced her husband for the same reason. Her husband was forced to walk away from truth, and she still has the power.

I said forced to walk away because there is no restoration in UPC, we like killing our wounded, that’s another subject.

I think it just makes the UPC appear to be petty if they pull either ultra con or lib authors books from their shelves while they carry non Oneness authors.

I think the exception would be any books that denigrate the UPC.

I don't even want to get started in this. It just makes me too upset. I will only say that someone needs to pass out the "binkys" at a certain headquarters located somewhere in the Unites States and call the Waaaaaambulance. :D

The PPH really confuses me with some stuff...like mentioned here about allowing td jakes, joyce meyer books, etc. but then our pastor at one time had one of his books sold through the PPH. Then a certain high ranking preacher disagreed with some of it and it was pulled. When most others did agree with it. Yet they allow RR's magic hair books when the majority of folks I know do NOT agree with it. I don't think some have ever read it...they just thought they couldn't go wrong with a book about hair.

If there was a book who's sole purpose was to teach against television and the majority of the reasons against were based on the movie Poltergeist (you know the one.... Carrol Ann speaking to the set showing nothing but snow...), they wouldn't probably allow it because the ends justify the means when it comes to standards teaching.

ooh...yucky! i remember accidentally watching this on tv as a kid. didn't sleep good for a week! i just remember something undoing the kid's braces on her teeth and somebody eating a worm from a tequila bottle.

Has anyone bothered calling the PPH to ask if the books are available or attempted to order them online? There seems to be a lot of decisive reaction to a rumor that can be easily substantiated or put to rest with a call or a click. Just my opinion.

It is the politics of the UPCI to ostrasize those who have left their ranks by denying fellowship, removing books, and downright lying about individuals. They take it as persoanl betrayal to themselves as it is not about salvation and God.

Cindy, that is sooooo not true, I think you are at burn out point, you need to take a breather for a few days. It happens to us all, it really does help to step away for a little bit. That is why I generally try to stay off of here on the weekends, I need a break!

I have recently returned to church. It is a UPCI church. Just because I am not a pastor or preacher does not mean it doesn't affect me when people are so critical. My local church and pastor are nothing like the way most are portrayed here, nor have I known but 1 UPC preacher that I can honestly say I have no respect for. I am not God therefore I cannot judge anyone and yet I feel so affected by some of the rhetoric here and the absolute joy some seem to feel in criticizing and belittleing preachers. Their excuses are tiresome, their agendas plain, and yet they continue to use this forum as if anyone here can change what they feel is wrong with the UPCI and it's leadership. I really pray for a lot of people here on this forum and I just feel hurt.
I guess I will just have to continue to pray for a right spirit and that I treat others here on AFF the way I believe I as a christian should.

OK, I will take your "person"s word on it, I don't have the time or feel like calling them right now, those phone order people at PPH are NOT friendly in my experience, I always place the orders on-line; but are they really "destroying" them???
