Nona Freeman died last Sunday? Collapsed? ...

Is this an old or a new story ...?

The following blog and forum post seem to report this ...

From NetGlobalMinistries.com dated July 11th ...

Quote:

What a Testimony Through Sis. Nona Freeman

Sis. Nona Freeman has always been one of my favorite persons. She has amazed me at the way she has continued to travel and minister at her advanced age. Here is a true testimony that will lift and inspire you.

Sis. Nona Freeman was at First Church this morning in DeRidder. She spoke this morning and as she was coming to the end of her topic, she began to slump slowly to the floor with some trying to hold her and letting her ease down to the floor . She lay there about 10 mins., Bro.Lewis and several others prayed and scurried around to call 911.

http://netglobalministries.com/Nona%20Freeman2.jpg

She actually died, her eyes were set and there wasn’t a pulse. Prayer continued and in a bit she came back to and told them she wanted to finish her sermon, so lying there still behind the podium, they handed her the mike and she finished the lesson on how to be baptized, lying on the floor. They then sat her in a chair over by the pulpit.

They took her to eat and she was back at church tonight preaching for about another 45 mins. Bro. Lewis said she was resurrected, the first time he had seen that. She did not want 911 or doctor. What a hero of the faith!

First church was so blessed today to witness the power and glory of our God through this experience. She’s very weak but will not stop, I guess until she just can’t go…..Just thought everyone would like to know…Love, Nina

There was alot of prayer all over the church, just a united effort of prayer from the whole congregation.

Psalms 121: 1,2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh the Lord.

It happened last Sunday. This is my home church. My mom, dad, and two sisters were in both services.

the people who checked her were medical professionals who are members of the church. They ALL agree that she was dead.

Whether dead or not God did a work that stunned the medical professionals. I say awesome. My blessings to such a lady.

I talked to one of Sis. Freeman's daughter's yesterday...this did not happen. A few weeks ago her legs gave out during a service, due to painful surface blood clots in the legs.

might want to check that again.... this happened one week ago today. DeRidder La. you can call the church if you like.

First Pentecostal Church DeRidder
Pastor Zale Lewis

I KNOW PERSONALLY the medical people who attended Sister Freeman.

I ate lunch today with my two sisters who were THERE. They both agreed on what happened... as told by others here.

I also know the GI speical forces guy who is a trained EMT who said "I have seen lots of dead people and she was dead."

Now, did they have a brain wave monitor on hand? well of course not. But they did have medical training and the nurses and EMT that attended her said she had no pulse and her pupils were fixed and dialated.

Interesting, Pastor had the church getting excited over this this morning, but he did say, "If I understand it correctly..."

Just to put a little perspective...if something terrible happened to my mother, and then I asked her, "Mom, what happened?", she'd probably say something along the lines of, "Oh, honey, it was no big deal, just a little blood clot." LOL!!!

Just a thought.

Of course not. I'm saying mothers tend to play down their own illnesses to their kids. At least, from what I've seen...and done. :)

It'd be nice to hear directly from Sis. Freeman, that's all. Maybe someone could write her a letter? And the pastor of the church, too, while they're at it? Daniel?

:D I didn't think that's what you were doing, but it's pretty quiet around here right now, so.....................................

I really think CaryM's information is related to a different incident. She said something happened several weeks ago.

The thing that everyone is talking about happened LAST SUNDAY. I suspect a little more digging would reveal that.

I am telling you it happened last week in DeRidder La. First Pentecostal Church on 100 Malon Street.

I can give you the zipcode if you like. There is no question in my mind.

Sorry CareyM, but I talked to Sis. Freeman and her daughter Sandra, that lives with her. It DID happen. Not trying to be mean, but I talked to Sandra and Sis. Freeman Tuesday morning and the story was related to me about what happened.

I know from extensive experience that without proper monitoring one cannot say conclusively that a person is dead in a short period of time. There are heart rhythms that cannot be picked up by the touch. Maybe her heart had slowed down and peripheral shutdown was evident. I'm seen many cases where the patient had no palpable heart rate and yet a monitor said that they did. Were they doing CPR?

I can't remember where she told me she was headed..(gettin' old, or just had some GREAT church and my brain is tired)

I wish you could come too. It's gonna be fun (at least most of it will...:whistle)

I'm ready for a break.

The thought of doing CPR on a 91 y/o is there will be broken bones and lots of bruising.

Maybe she had PEA?

Could have. But my concern is that to pronounce someone dead one must have more info and time.

I didn't realize that! I have a friend who is a RT.

Being in the NICU must be rewarding.

I work in a 70 bed unit. It's THE most rewarding work I've ever done. Outside of my family there is nothing I've ever done that gives me as much pleasure.

I think it's a rare thing to be in a career you genuinely love these days.
Good for you. Too bad you weren't in the audience in DeRidder last Sunday. :D

Is this this Sister Freeman that was a missionary to Africa? I remember as a young boy a Brother and Sister Freeman came to our church and the wife is the one who spoke.

I think I was around 10 at the time and I still remember it as a powerful service.

I'm not drawing any judgment on what God can or did do. Just want accuracy in reporting.

Well, it would be safe to say, they believe she was dead. And telling why they believe she was. Really, no need to prove anything. Obviously God touched her.

God gets the Glory!

The truth is that we don't know for sure. Believe me. It won't be preached that way. Accuracy might be the only thing that will have died.

Well, I guess if it happend to me, I would likely tell the story, as it happened, and leave the "telephone game" effect outcomes to God. If I did feel I was raised up, I would definitely be telling it far and wide.

That's how I personally feel about it. Everyone is different.
