Is it a sin to be upset with kids and puppies?

I am POOPED. No pun intended, which the following tale will entail.

Remember the 8 puppies? Today they are poopy puppies. I went in to check on them a little bit ago...and ONE of them (haven't figured out which one) has diarrhea. YES, you read that right, DIARRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Think about it. 1 puppy has it, all of them step in it, GAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I've bleached about everything possible, and I can STILL SMELL IT! :vomit

I put the puppies outside. *gag*

While washing the rugs, I sprayed their poopy feet down with the hose, not caring at all that it was COLD WATER!!!! :evilglee

Now to the kids: My mother is gone on vacation. What does that have to do with the price of gold in China, you ask? Well, apparently my children are actually messy, messy, children, and my mother picks up after them all the time, and I just DO NOT NOTICE!!!

Because. MY HOUSE IS MESS!!! There are PILLOWS all OVER THE living room FLOOR. Here I thought we had a Grandma in the house, and apparently she is actually a live-in NANNY!!!

The middle bedroom, there are books everywhere, blankets everywhere, toys EVERY-WHERE!!!!!

My children, when asked to clean up the mess, are wandering around picking up one little thing here and there, looking confused, and asking me where to put it. OBVIOUSLY, I am going to have to clean this myself, but Equally Obviously, THEY need to learn how to put a few things away? How did I miss this glaring deficit in their upbringing?

My mother is going to have to STOP cleaning up. Period. When she gets back, there is going to be a talk about how grandchildren need to put away their own clothes and make their own beds. I am starting to suspect that maybe she was EVEN DOING THEIR CHORES!!!! :club

And I, I am exhausted, and feeling VERY cranky. I am a FAILURE as a mother and Foster Puppy Mom. :tissue

And it's making me feel better to temporarily blame my mother, so LEAVE ME ALONE! :club

Okay. Do you have any THOUGHTS? :aaa Maybe I need a :snapout or two.

if it makes you feel anybetter, last night I looked at my son (after fixing a clock he had broken for the upteenth time) and told him if he touched it ONE MORE TIME I was going to spank his hiney and it would HURT REALLY BAD!

I picked up his left hand, and said "If this hand touches this clock I will spank you really hard"
then I picked up his right hand and repeated.

then I made him repeat to me NO TOUCH!

i was not happy.

There you go. I gave you five :ursofunny

Just one of those days. If it makes you feel any better. I have a 85 pound puppy that just got over a bout of diarrhea, so you might still be getting off easy with the real little puppies.

Have you given them their Parvo shots? Cause if you didn't, that's bad. They will die.

Well, I am sitting as calmly as possible at the dining room table, (obviously typing) and when Jeff gets home, I'm going to let the Gestapo kick in while I escape to the grocery store.

I am SO upset!!!!! Irrationally, maybe. :crazy

Until they figure out you meant it the first time. Usually this involves being consistent with whatever punishment you promise them they will get after giving them the first verbal warning.

DON'T INTERROGATE ME!!!!!!!! :tissue :tissue :tissue

I don't know where I usually am. I know my mother does the laundry most of the time, but that's no problem--I have it all caught up.

Apparently she does a lot more than I actually notice. :( Shame on me, too. :tissue

We have a routine, I do the living room, dining room, kitchen and my bedroom, she usually does the laundry and middle bathroom, and the kids are supposed to be keeping up with their own chores. I see them working on things...sometimes...

MAYBE, they are just taking advantage of me, BUT, I'm trying to push that thought away until their father gets home.

They've all been wormed. That's all the VET told me to do, until their 6 week appointment!!!!

My advice to all of you frustrated parents of young children would be to call your own parents and complain. That way they can give you the obligatory, "This is what you get for causing me so many problems when you were young" speech. I am sure it will make their day! :D

Oh my gosh!!! That's very bad. It stays at your house forever and a dog will pick it up. That's not a good sign at all! Call the vet. You have to give them a Parvo shot every month for three months and then a year later.

Yeah, they won't get the Parvo shots until they are a little older. You just should keep them away from other dogs or out where dogs have been going to the bathroom (I guess they don't actually "go to the bathroom" but you know what I mean.)

Dear Mr. Pressing,

Too late!! My dog just took his last set of Parvo two days ago. He has flea pills and worming pills to last until November and also has his Rabies shot!

I know that will disappoint you, greatly!!! :ursofunny

Sister, is it possible that the puppies may have eaten some cat food? I know cat food will give them the runs.

So, they don't need a Parvo shot until they are six weeks old. I didn't know that. We had a puppy die of Parvo.

There is actually a schedule of about three sets of shots or so that they should really have before you allow them to interact with other dogs or go where they can come across dog urine, etc...
