Dog Pack Attacks Gator

This story and picture is unbelievable. Check it out.

Florida dog pack attacks gator

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a
certain justice manifested within that cruelty.

The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered
the "apex predator", can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy,
made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the
pack mentality" bred into the canines.

See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine.

Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from
breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing.
The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.

Not for the squeamish!

I would love it if they did. That's why we have a miniature dachshund. I didn't want a big dog. I like small animals. I want someone to invent miniature kittens. lol

I had a neighbor back some years ago with a dog that was half dachshund and half Labrador....it looked like a science project gone wrong...labs head on a dachshund body

Monkeyman 02-11-2007 06:29 PM

That doesn't sound attractive. My dog is a full blooded miniature, long haired, and gorgeous.

I know that this one has been long dead, but I just saw it for the first time and had to laugh. I could not help it.

Re: Dog Pack Attacks Gator

and this is suppose to be an apostolic forum? Taking pleasure in the gator getting attacked is not apostolic at all.
