I am probably as anti-Obama as you can get.... However, as wrong as it was for this prayer to be published.. it definitely shows me another side of Obamas personal mindset.

Still voting for McCain though.. unfortunately it's the only choice I have

how is voting for mccain the only choice you have when there are at least 2 other candidates running, not including obama?

vote your conviction-- if mccain isn't it, vote for Barr or even McKinney.

but mccain needs no one's vote with reservations. either u want him or u don't.

On hotel stationary, he penned the following prayer, according to Maariv, which ran a photo of the note: "Lord, protect my family and me," Obama wrote. "Forgive me my sins and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."


Evidently thought it out, not a spontaneous prayer, looks like he wrote it at the hotel.

as if that widely circulated poster with bush, cheney and powell sitting at the table as if they were about to pray was "authentic".

but we second guess a private prayer placed at a site that was not supposed to be tampered with by anyone, let alone released to the media, as something for the media.....

Oh, ok, I get it. This was some cleverly executed plan, whereby Obama would go to the wailing wall, pretend to be praying to God, when he's secretly a Muslim, leave his prayer there, with the understanding that a secret operative would take the message and leak it to the media, all in the hopes that it would help sway American Christians into voting for him?

CC1, talk about a conspiracy! Listen, your son bought a black CAR, not helicopter!! I know it's easy to get confused when you get older, and seeing that black CAR, not helicopter, has you paranoid right now about secret goings on, but I believe I can safely say this wasn't a staged stunt to manipulate you into voting for Obama, ok?

No conspiracy theory here. I am just saying if he has half a brain he knew there was a good chance a reporter or someone was going to retrieve that piece of paper.

It doesn't make him evil. Anyone in his position would know that and probably make sure they took that into consideration with what they wrote.

But Brother, the guy is an adulterer. He cheated on the woman who stuck it out with him when he was a POW. He divorced his wife, married the woman he had been fooling around with, and then used her money to get into politics. The guy's a slimeball. 1399 started a thread about it. :D

Speaking of divorce, etc.

The first person (as far as I can think of right now) that Jesus told that He was the Messiah/Christ (John 4:26) was a woman who had had (past tense did not have present tense) 5 husbands and was living with a man who was not her husband. That woman's preaching (or testimony if you don't believe in women preachers) was the cause of a city wide revival of folks believing in Jesus.

Easty, reread the sentence. Had I worded it this way, "When he was a POW he cheated on the woman who stuck it out with him" it would mean what you think it means. The "when he was a POW" is referring to the timeframe in which she stuck it out with him, not the timeframe in which he was cheating on her.
