WNOP-Severe Burns On 8 Yr Old
 

From WNOP.

Eight year old Donovan received severe burns to his face, torso and arms. He is at a pediatric burn unit and doctors believe they will need to amputate one of his arms. Please pray for an immediate healing. Pray for the family to have peace during this time.

We humbly ask You to touch this 8 yr. old child, Donovan and spare his arms,
dear Lord!! Both of them! You can do what no other can do. We trust You, Lord
God and thank You for what You will do for this precious child, in Jesus Name!

Go to the above link for the latest updates on Donovan. My family has visited him, his mother, and grandmother in the hospital. This is still a life-threatening situation.

I went to the link above and saw the picture of little Donovan & it is heartbreaking.
Nevertheless, God is big & he is able to perform great things on this family's behalf.

Hello again, today was another surgery day. This is the fifth one so far. We had
really hoped to get great news, but did not.He has an infection in the blood.
They do not have a name for it yet. It takes a few days to grow. They have sent
three different doctors up here to check it out that specialize in this type of
stuff to see if there is any thing more that can be done. They have got him on
three different antibiotics to hopefully kill this thing. He is having 104
temps and as long as it is on the move in his blood it can damage an major organ
in his body. We don't need this at all .The surgery on monday was not a success.
The grafts on the face and neck did not take because of this infection in the
blood. He has dealt with major amounts of pain all week from them taking his
scalp to have it not work. So this has set us back a ways. The plastic surgeon
is gonna talk to me on monday to see what the next plan is. His graft doctor
still has to do hands, shoulder and some of chest and then plastics will take
care of face, lips, chin, and neck. At this point I don't know how many more
surgeries we have to go before we get home. Please keep praying that God will
give me strength to keep him strong during all of this. IT=t is one of the
hardest things to see your baby hurting and NOTHING you can do to stop it.
Thanks for all cards and gifts, it keeps me going. To Bro. Meadows and church
family, thank you for the balloons and the little dog that we recieved
yesterday. He liked it alot.Well until tomorrow LOVE ALL OF YOU TAMMY

Donovan looks much better than when we first saw him.

Hello, thanks to all who have left me little notes of love. Today things are
just about the same. He has been trying to eat about 4 or 5 bits per meal. He
really don't like the feeding tube in his nose. This morning he was not so
lucky. He has started vomiting. They said it is part of all of this, but as you
all know another step back. I asked the doctor when he will get his love for
food back and he said it will take a long time. Dr.Ray said it always happens
with burn victims that it takes about 6 to 8 months for him to be eating half of
what he did before the burn. It is so traumatic to the stomach. So now you have
something else to help me pray for. My babies abilityto hold down food. Thank
for all of the phone calls and cards. We truly are grateful. Yesterday Donovan
recieved a card with 20 dollars in it with a note that said just for Donovan.
You should have seen his face light up. So the next couple of family members who
called Donovan asked where was their offering. I know now he IS gonna be a
preacher. He is feeling a little better cause he's looking for things to come in
the mail. ha ha . Well I will go for now, but until next time, KEEP PRAYING WE
love all of you. It is so wonderful to see everyone that has logged on to this

AN UPDATE ON DONOVAN

First I want to say the computer is down up by Donovans room so I have to wait
till I walk to the Ronald McDonald house to use their computer.Yesterday he had
surgery again. They took skin from his left side to fix his hands, shoulder and
some of the chest. Today he is in lots of pain. It is so hard to get really
comfortable. He is on an air bed to help him not get as many pressure sores on
his body. So this morning I was sitting by his bed and the bed was airing up
from were he had moved. His eyes got real big and he yelled MY BED IS BREATHING.
I had to laugh. He is always asking the nurses if he has any mail, I told him
now its fun to get but when you get older you will wait for days without
checking it cause all you get are bills. They are talking about taking him down
on Monday for surgery number 7. I'm not for sure on that yet. Well I guess I
will go for now. Don't forget to pray for us. To all who have left a little love
note for us thank you. Keep them coming. To my church family at Calvary, WE LOVE
YOU SOOOOO MUCH and miss you to. We'll be back. Thanks to all for the cards and
Donovan says thanks for the gifts. To my darling son who is in Illinois, WE LOVE
YOU and miss you terribly. Please be on you best behavior, and don't eat you
uncle and aunt out of house and home. I need you to come back home to me safe. I

Not much to tell today, he is in a lot of pain. Has to take medication for the
