Can You beleive this?

i went into this restaurant today and when i got done eating we went to pay for it and the lady that was helping us accidently put $395.00 instead of $39.50 on my debit card, and it was taken out of my account right then and there, and my hubby told her that it was going to be taken out right away because it was a debit, well i went to the bank and pulled up the account and guess what? it was taken out, so now the money was frozen until 3-7 business days, well that was the most expensive dinner i have ever had, well anyway i hate it when you go somewhere and this happens,

well we got home to talk to the main manager and she told my hubby that he was rude and the funny thing is that he hardly talked , he let them do the talking, so we went home and have to wait 3-7 business days to get it back, how horrible these people do this all the time,

what has been some of your experiences?

if they only knew how my hubby was before christ, then yes he would have been rude, but we had a good attitude about it, what a mess,,,,:bigbaby

Incredible that they say he was rude. BTW did you have to type in your pin number or did they run it through like a credit card but without signing? I hate those things. If you can type in your pin number you can make sure the amount is correct

Debit Card... that's why you're supposed to check the amount before you press OK, "trigger"... :D

You don't need a lecture, your missing $395.00 is enough punishment.

we refused to sign it, because it was the incorrect amount--no pin number at all,- all she had to do was credit my account again

wait, if you refused to sign it then it is not valid. How can they debit the account? It's unauthorized. You should dispute the full amount with the bank.

Got a funny story. (Don't I always?) Had dinner at a nice restaurant with all the kids and a few friends. The bill was well into the 3 digits (no, not counting the cents!), and I added a tip to the credit card slip, as usual. I totaled it, and even had my son check my math for me. Got home and looked at it again. Not sure how it happened or how my son missed it, but it was off by a hundred bucks! (Too high!)

Called the restaurant and they refunded the $100 to my account. Whew!

This is why I use CASH. I just don't trust all those things. People still make mistakes! I do use credit cards and pay them off each month, but they are really good about disputes.

We had a UPC preacher friend who accidentally put a $100 tip on the table instead of a dollar! By the time he realized it, he was home and it was too late. That's what he gets for just planning to leave a dollar!:ursofunny

Speaking of tips... when I was more well off I used to give the pizza delivery person a twenty.. and I tipped the waiter/waitress the price of the meal or above.

I've found the more we give, the more we get from the Lord... and not speaking in prosperity doctrine terms.

thats a pretty good tip.
i go to this restaurant where there is this flamer- i mean he is a flamer, my hubby asked him who the pics were that he was carrying around in his tip book and he said "OH THATSY MY HUSBAND WE GOT MARRIED IN MISSOURI"

we have our own business and when we go there to the restaurant he always serves us very well because he knows we give good tips, so when we bring friends there he is always there to bring anything we want on the dot ,

"Flamer".. I've learned something else new tonight.

There's a guy at our favorite restaurant in town who we can't decide if he's a flamer or not... but he gives the absolute best service... and this before getting the good tip. (We always tip him really well though)

If I ever have to wait on tables for whatever circumstances, it is my hope that I'm tipped as well as I tipped, but up to par with todays inflation rate.

I waited tables.
I really disliked the job.
Most of the times the tips were small, and I always have that in mind when I tip in a restaurant.

yes...I agree with you. I thought the first credit was an inquiry....and then sometimes days later, when they run the credit card reports, then it posts. Like at a motel.
