Baby is coming

We are headed to the hospital. There is only one doctor in Houston that will let me deliver naturally, after 3 c-sections. Please pray that everything goes well.

Sis. Kae,

May the One who formed that little one in your womb, watch over and give
you a safe delivery, in Jesus Name! If He delivered Israel out of Egypt, surely
HE can give this little one a safe passage too! IS ANYTHING TOO hard for our
GOD!

Blessings,

Falla39

Yikes! You do realize there is a reason why only one Dr. will do that in a city of millions. It is very dangerous and not medically advisible.

However despite what I see as poor judgement on your part I will be praying for you that all goes well.

Kae,

Have a safe delivery and a healthy baby and a huge DQ Blizzard when the baby is here safe and sound.

Come back and share pictures soon!

After being at the hospital for five hours labor stopped and they sent me home. If I was going to have a c-section they would have kept me. So a little more waiting. Thank You for your prayers.

I am well aware of the risks and am quite comfortable with the physician that will be doing the delivery. He isn't a novice and is the head teaching obgyn at the medical school. He doesn't delivery babies anymore unless it is an unusual case and I fall into that category. He will do everything possible for a vbac and the c-section will be a last resort.

Have you researched this? The main reason doctors won't do VBACs is liability. There are risks, but a C-section is also more risky than a natural delivery.

Praying all is well for both you and the baby!

(My wife stuck baby gold yesterday! She saw a garage sale sign in our neighborhood and bought a brand new looking fancy stroller that must have
retailed for a couple of hundred dollars for just $25.00 and a bunch of girl infant clothes that are like new for almost nothing.)

I am not going to hijack this thread for a discussion on this so this is my last comment. The issue here is not a C section vs natural delivery. It is that the mother previously has had multiple C sections which changes the bodies ability to safely go back to natural child birth. That is exactly why almost no hospitals will do it - liability, just as you stated and for good reason.

Re: Baby is coming

I had a natural birth and everything went well. I ended up taking my son into the emergency room on the 3rd for an asthma attack. Well I ended up in labor while he was there and had to leave him and go to another hospital an hour away. Thankfully my sister was able to stay with him.

My doctor was on vacation and wasn't available. There was another doctor on who had worked closely with my doctor and felt that a vbac would be a better option than a 4th c-section. The baby was more at risk with a vbac and I was more at risk with a 4th c-section. I had previously had 4 vbac's which made it a better option, even though my last 2 births had been c-sections.

At the end I was worried I was going to end up with a c-section when the baby's heart beat went down and they couldn't get it back up. It was amazing how fast the room filled up with people and they went to work. I was at a 9 and went to a 10 within minutes, then pushed the baby out in 6 minutes. He was blue and gray and not breathing. They got him breathing and his color returned. The cord had been wrapped around his neck. His apgar scores were 7 and 8. He ended up in the high risk nursery for about 4 hours. He was fine after that.

I had another boy which makes 6 now. We didn't find out what we were having till he was born. The nurse asked if I would like to know what the baby was and I said no, I already knew. I had been hoping for another girl, but as soon as he was born I knew it was a boy. Of course after all that work it doesn't matter what the baby is.

He was born Aug 4. weighed 8lbs 4oz. 21" long.

A 4th c-section has more risks that then first three. I was unaware of this until I went into labor. My labor stopped again after I had been at the hospital and since my water had broken there was no going back. My risks went from 1% risk of uterine rupture to a 7% risk because of the need to be induced with pitocin. The doctor said in her 15 years of doing vbac's she hadn't seen anyone rupture with pitocin. She also said that didn't mean that I wouldn't be her first. Thankfully I wasn't.

Kae, congrats!!! Are you willing to provide pics?

This makes 8 or 9 for you, right? A girl in my nursing class was allowed to finish her clinicals early because she had her 9th baby in March.

You know the Duggars are pregnant with their 18th and due the first of the year? Wondering if you were hoping to catch up....LOL!

I happened to catch about the last 15 minutes of a show on them last night. It was narrated by their oldest son, and showcasing their new house that they built. It took them over 3 years to get it finished. It's nice.
