Do you have a best friend?

Tell us about him/her.

How did you become such good friends?

Re: Do You Have a Best Friend?

Does a person only have one best friend at a time?
If you have more than one, does that mean neither one are really your "best"?

Re: Do You Have a Best Friend?

I have a few that are in the category of "best". :)

I'll tell you about Noah. I was familiar with him. I went to school with his older brother.
Anyway, Noah found religion when he was in middle school.
When he began High School I used to witness to him about the Holy Ghost.
We had a Phys. Ed. class together. We both would not dress out often. The instructor would assign everyone a fence post to lean against.
One day I told Noah, "If you come to the fence I'll pray for you so you can receive the Holy Spirit." I had to use terminology that he was familiar with. :)
Anyway, The next yr Noah began to attend church with me.
We are very close. He has crossed over from "best friend" to "brother". We share everything, our struggles, etc. Encourage, pray for each other. And sometimes I'll take a tie of his... if I'm in the mood to wear a tie.
I have another... who is a few yrs younger... and one who is a newly wed. He can't come out to play anymore.. so it's different.

Several very good friends. Don't think I would want to single one of them out as my best friend.

I have a best friend, James. First time I met him was when I visited his church once.... After a little further church involvement we just hit it off and became great friends. I consider him not just a friend, but my brother. I would fight a rabid grizzly bear for him and his family.

Yes. I have three...they have all been in my life for over 30 years and have seen me through good times and bad times. They do not offer opinions unless asked and they know me well enough to speak wisdom into my situation. They do not judge me and love me even when I make bad decisions.

The three: two of them I was there for them when they needed a friend which created the bond. One was/has always been and I don't know why...she just loves people and loves me despite it all.

Blessings, Rhoni

I have a couple best friends.

One will always be my bestest friend because she knows everything - lol!

Re: Do You Have a Best Friend?

Ok, this is actually an article I wrote (yes it is all true), but it tells about my best friend better than anything I can come up with in a minute... This was written in April 2007

So I am awakened this morning at 6 am by the light in my bedroom turning on, and my husband of 14 years running though the bedroom, naked and soaking wet, screaming "it's overflowing, the shower is overflowing into the toilet!"

Needless to say, I wasn't too happy to be given such a rude awakening, and when I finally realized what was going on, I threw a robe at him and told him to get dressed... He poured Drano down the shower and we got ready to go on a graduation brunch cruise. (we had a great time by the way)

When we came home, we realized, that not only had the Drano not worked, the TOILET HAD BACKED UP INTO THE SHOWER! So my husband proceeded to take the panel off of the wall in our bedroom so he could get to the pipes and use his plumbing snake... it didn't work....

So he had to take the toilet apart, I don't mean like the back off or anything, I mean he took the whole thing out! so there he was leaning over a "Thai-looking, toilet-hole" in the bathroom floor.

Being the huge help that I am, I go and get him some gloves, and tell him to put them on, and while I am standing there plugging my nose and holding my breath, there is my husband, on his knees shoving a snake down the toilet-hole all the while banging is hands on the sides...

I realized that I have never loved him as much as I did in that moment (and still do).

So on the eve of his graduation from law school, he will have bloody knuckles...As he walks across the platform, I will be remembering that moment, seeing him all sweaty and dirty (with things I won't mention here) and realize that I am so proud of him, not just for completing law school, not just because he plays catch with our son almost everyday, not just because he has tea parties with our daugter, who he affectionately refers to as, "monkey"... But because he takes care of me,he takes care of us, and because he is willing to take the time to do the nastiest job imaginable so we can have a flushing toilet and a waste-free shower...

So everytime I walk into the bathroom, I will remember that true love isn't just about romance and flowers, it isn't just about friday night dates, and long walks on the beach, it isn't just about flowery words or evenings of passion... True love is about toilets and tea parties, playing catch and bloody knuckles....

So on our 75th wedding anniversary when someone asks me what the secret to a happy marriage is, when my answer is, "the toilet" please don't think I am senile... I am just remembering a long ago memory of an afternoon spent in the bathroom...

This article reminds me of a question I have always had.

When no amount of whoooing works to break the ice, (you know, put her in the mood) flowers don't cut it, sweet words--I can't do anything. But if I wash the dishes, or put in a load of laudry or OMG if I mop the kitchen floor. REACTION, It warms her icy exterior and it is on.....

WHY??????? What is sexy about doing dishes or "cleaning a toliet"?
