Will Smoking Send You To Hell
 

I have never seen any scriptures that deal with the subject of smoking even though there are scriptures that deal with drinking (maybe smoking wasn't around in the Bible days).

Most churches teach that smoking will send you to hell using scriptures that talk about how our bodies are the temple of God and we are to care for our bodies.

In my opinion, you can't take that stand unless you are also going to take a similar stand against other things that destroy this body.

It is a known fact that many types of foods cause diabetes, heart disease, heart attacks, high blood pressure and the like.

What is your opinion on this issue?

Me no likey cigars. However, a friend of mine and I were taking a trip to get a car I had bought off Ebay a few years ago. This was when I was still a smoker. We stopped at a gas station and bought as many different cigars as we could afford. It was just for that trip, and we had a total blast trying out all the different cigars! Neither one of us were interested in smoking cigars after that trip! :lol

True, but they're cheap that way. The Swisher Sweets weren't too bad. I've never tried a really good cigar. Is there that much of a difference?

I don't believe smoking will send one to Hell, but I do think they increase their risk of serious illness. I'd admonish people not to smoke or to smoke only occasionally in the name of health.

And yes...there was such a thing as "smoking" back in Christ's day.

Of course you cannot use these drugs and be right. Nor can you be right using any form of the drug nicotine. And if you believe caffeine is the same as these other drugs then quit your Dew and coffee also.

Smoking won't send you to hell, despite the fact you will probably be more used to breathing in the sulphur.

I said it before, it is not a "your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit" issue. It is an issue of "Thou shall not have any other Gods before me."

To smokers, cigarettes are your God, and don't tell me you can smoke without becoming addicted to nicotine. It is a scientific impossibility.

Smoking will not send you to hell, but worshiping at the feet of your addiction will.

So, it isn't a sin to use pharmaceutical version of pot and cocaine, but it's a sin to use the natural versions? That makes perfect sense, Brother. NOT! Also, nicotine and caffeine are in the same family of drugs. Guess that means no coffee, tea, soda, or chocolate for anyone who want to be saved.

Actually, I have known several social smokers who didn't get addicted to cigarettes. My first wife is one of the people I am talking about. She would only smoke when she was drinking wine, and never got addicted to the cigarettes.
