This wasn't the purpose of this thread at all I was just bragging on my school, but I feel you have forced my hand. I wrote to the school and asked them if they listed online grads in their directory the following is the response I received.

Yes, the community does include all degree programs and distance learning alumni. Was there someone in particular that you were having trouble finding?

Michelle C. McGrath
Manager, Regional Alumni Programs
Regent University, Office of Alumni Relations
ADM 116 ~ 757-226-4612
Fax: 757-226-4434

Naturally I responded and this was the next reply.

I’ve searched through our database for anyone with the last name Vaughn and first or middle name of Shane and came up empty.

Let me see if I can get the registrar to track this person down. Perhaps it’s just a fluke with our system. I’ll let you know as soon as I find something out.

And finally this one.

Unfortunately we have not been able to locate the person in our system. I’m sorry we haven’t been able to help you!

DV, why don't you just settle all this so we can move on. Post a pic of the degree, give someone you trust your name so they can find out, or come clean and say you don't have the stooopid degree. This has gone beyond ridiculous.

I am not going to get into the rest of this thread, but that is absolutely not true, online students ARE alumni after graduation.

In case some people are assuming this is a degree mill, let me assure you it is not; I spend about 11 per week, per class. I am starting two new classes in 2 weeks. Before the first class starts, I have to read 3 chapters (83 pages) in one book, and 39 pages in another book. I will have at least that much reading every week, and at least one paper-per class due every week. If anyone would like a page from a syllabus, let me know...

I Love Regent. I know that this is where God has led me and I am proud of the work that I have done. I would put my degree up against any brick and mortar one, particularly because of the theological training that is incorporated, even though my Major is Communications, and my Minor is Government....

Anyone else interested in my school, PM me!

Can this finally, once and for all, end this charade and put this matter to bed? If the guy wants to call himself Dr. Vaughn and his University of choice doesn't know he exists, so be it.

Credibility goes a long way on forums, like it does in face to face relationships. It's up to each individual to either portray that or not.

Just for the record and I will have nothing more to say about this none of these names appear on record at Regent as having graduated or even attended John, Stephen, or Shane, Vaughn.

Re: Regent ranked in top 10 for online degrees.

As I see it, Vauhgn can clear this up one of two ways:

1...Scan and upload a copy of his Regent Degree (as he previously said he would do), or ...

2...Contact the Alumni Relations office at Regent, and point out that they've made a mistake by not having his name listed on their website as being a graduate of the university. Once the error is corrected, it will be available for all to see, and that should put the issue to rest for good.

Until then, his credibility on this forum (as a man, as a Christian, and as a minister of the Word) will be seriously undermined.

Re: Regent ranked in top 10 for online degrees.

I have absolutely given Dr. Vaughn the benefit of the doubt in regards to his stated credentials.

It has only been in the last couple of days that the thought has seroiusly crossed my mind that the accusations of him having lied could possibly be true.

In my mind it indeed would be a simple matter of scanning the diploma I am sure would proudly be displayed on a wall or table and posting it here.

I trust and pray that someone asking to be taken seriously in Biblical discussions has not been lying about something as basic as their educational background.

If and when Dr. Vaughn provides proof of his degree I would hope all of the naysayers would apologize.

If that proof is impossible to produce because it does not exist then Dr. Vaughn not only owes everybody on this forum an apology but would need to repent for violating one of the ten commandments.

It's a simple request. He claims to be a doctor. He listed the schools he attended, along with the years attended, and the degrees received. It was brought to our attention that his name does not appear in one of the school's records. It's a very simple thing to clear this misunderstanding up and retain his credibility.

In my opinion, if you make the claim to be a doctor, and can't produce the evidence, you're a fraud, and as someone else has stated, have actually broken some laws somewhere.

Time will tell. The proof of the pudding is in the tasting, and the proof of the doctorate is in the viewing.

And, it's not a crime to claim to be Christian when you're really not, lol - unfortunately.

Agree! So what??? If your going to go after this Dr. Vaughn person to provides proof of his degree then every person on here who claims to be a pastor should likewise prove they have a lic or credentials from a real college with real credentials, otherwise they should not flap their lips on subject dealing with bible, etc. It would not surprise me at just how many of them here have received their from an internet base company, or their pastor gave them the titled of being a pastor. :snapout

You don't have to have a degree to be a pastor, you DO have to have a degree to be a doctor.

Well, that would actually be a good thing, if he did indeed have this degree and he ended up silencing the critics.

But unfortunately, Vaughn is partially responsible for this dragging on so long; He said weeks ago that he'd scan the degree an post it, but he still hasnt done so. So this could have been cleared up a long time ago.

I understand a pastor not the same as a doctor, but people tend to trust the heading Pastor, REV as someone they can trust. In some ceases these titled are held by flasks who never went to bible school but received a certificate over the internet after paying a 50.00 fee....:whistle

I really don't care if the guy a Dr or not, or a pastor this is the net, not all is real, so one should take caution when addressing or giving these type of folk's info or anyone for that matter over the net.

From everything I viewed clear back to Dan Alice, then coming back as Deep Threat later has an issues with the doc V not really being a doc, seemly won't drop the issues . I could careless myself, but some feel the need to carry this on and on. If V a fake so what, life goes on, I'm not one of doc fans, let God deal with him!

I'll admit I've lost alot respect that I had for Dan Alice/ Deep Threat, what he was doing went way beyond normal, it became badgering and even made Dan look as if he had control issues. As for the V I'll give him this, he kept his cool during all this madness. Hope that helps
