I need you guys to help me!
I need prayer for my situation. Desperately.
I came down here believing there was little to do in order to start work on August 11th. I called my supervisor to get things straight and she informed me that there's no way I can start work on the 11th, and at best it would be the 25th, but more likely on Sept 8th! This means no money until late September, and there's no way I can survive that long. This means going back to WI to work at my old job until I can start here. But there's a problem. The place I worked for has a low census problem, meaning there's no work for me unless the numbers increase. Too many people getting well and going home at once, and not enough people getting sick or injured to fill in the gaps! I need you all to pray for me to get the paperwork I need filled out so there are no delays in getting my license transferred, and I need to work no less than 30 hours a week for three weeks. My children have to stay here since they are starting school in two weeks. My sister will check on them everyday and make sure they have what they need, but I have no choice but to leave them here. They will be fine as long as they have food and cable TV! I have always believed God was in this move and have had no problems (except one) up until now. The devil is fighting me and he needs to lay off cause I'm in no mood! Thanks, everyone. I will keep you undated when I find things out. |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
Try finding one of those visiting nurse agencies. Maybe they can set you up with enough temporary work to keep you busy until you can start your regular job. We have one of those agencies right here in town.

Re: I need you guys to help me!
i will pray for you HO, gosh we will miss you around here, where are you moving to, dt
|
Re: I need you guys to help me!
HO,
Yikes! Stressful situation. I will be praying but I also agree that you should see if you could get work at your new location through a temp agency. Every place I have lived desperately needs nurses and utilizes nurses from these agencies a lot. |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
how far are you from the STL Metro area? They are always begging for nurses around here.....maybe you could try an agency or something? You could stay with me if you needed to...you wouldnt have to commute all the way home.
I'm sure you could find something around here pretty quick.... |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
i agree she could find work no doubt, but the licensing is the issue for her new job so probalby for temp work too, lol

Re: I need you guys to help me!
so true, and she is a good worker, any hosp or care facility would be lucky to have her, dt

Re: I need you guys to help me!
I wonder if she could get a job "sitting" with elderly people in the interim if licensing is the problem?
I know there are some agencies that specialize in that and some situations do not require a nursing license. |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
tha tis a great idea, hope they wouldnt mind it being temp and all with her allready having a good job waiting, dt

I'm praying also. I miss you and will be glad to have you back at any time but I definitely want things to work out for you and your kids.

Re: I need you guys to help me!
Sis. HeavenlyOne,
May our Great Lord God work out this situation as He is well aware of your need. He sees the future and also the needs of your precious children. He is there for you. Trust and believe. Talk to Him more than anyone else. He really does love and care for you! Blessings, Falla39 |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
I can't offer you anything but some prayer for your situation.
But I will do that. |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
Father, provide for my sister! She needs your provision and favor! And I THANK you for it in Jesus name, c'ause you are ALL THAT. Amen.
I know God can provide sis. My family was about to loose our home. We negotiated with the bank and sent them paperwork and just when it seemed like all hope was lost...they refinanced everything and now guess what....we got a lower payment than we had before, about $100 lower. Just last week my wife and I were in San Fransico. God provided the entire trip. Two plane tickes were given to us, my mother-in-law paid for a ticket for our two year old, and our week's stay at the Grand Hyatt was paid for. Then guess what...we bought an entertainment book for San Fran. We were going to use a coupon for the San Fran Zoo...buy one get one free. While my wife was trying to find the coupon in her purse, a lady walks up to us and asks if we were about to go into the Zoo. We said we were and she explained that she had season tickets she couldn't use because she had to leave town...and gave us two tickets! Paid nothing to get in. Then the very NEXT DAY we were down at the Fisherman's Warf thinking about springing for a bus tour around the city and then guess what....we bumped into a friend FROM DAYTON OHIO. LOL After some greetings and all he asked where we were headed and we told him that we were headed to buy the bus tour tickets. He said we'd love it. And then he looked at his wife, turned back to us and said, "You know, our plane leaves tomorrow and these tickets are good for two days, why don't you guys use them." And he handed me tickets. These tickets were "jump on-off" tickets good for two days. So we could ride these buses, get off where we wanted, catch the next one (30 minutes apart) for two whole days. And here's a kicker....one of their stops was Union Square...right next to our hotel! LOL Our dinner was bought for us twice. The wife and I took a "red-eye" home so our boy would sleep the entire flight. To relax and fall asleep in those god-awful seats the wife and I got two glasses of chardonnay. The male steward handed us two glasses of white and walked away to tend to other passengers. On his way back up the isle I offered him my bank credit card to pay for it...he said, "I'll take care of it later, just enjoy your flight sir." Guess what...he never came back and waved me away when I made eye contact. lol Lastly...we used the tax rebate money we got earlier this year for spending cash while in San Fran...so we didn't have to touch our bank account the entire time we were gone. After we got back from vacation...we did the math and we actually made money...just enough to cover some plumbing we needed taken care of! Every expense was practically on the Lord, even the wine! LOL If my God provided all that for my family (and we ain't ultra-cons, so we don't deserve it) I know he will provided for you sis. |

I called my former place of employment because it's my only option. They are working on the schedule to see when they can fit me in. I'm not worried about picking up extra hours.....others will take a day off knowing I'll work for them. Also, I have to get some furniture, which I was planning on doing this next week. That's now on hold because I wouldn't be able to pay for it. So my sister calls me after work and asks if I need a bed. I told her yes and she knows a guy who has one. It's a full size set with a frame. $45. He took $25. It's not the best set in the world, but it'll do for a couple months. Oh, and do I need a washer and dryer? She knew I was at the laundrymat at that very moment, and I'd given my old set to a friend, knowing I'd buy new ones here. Yes, I need a set. It's a Maytag factory direct set that's only a couple years old, he said. $40 for the set. I asked if the dryer had heat....LOL! And yes, the hoses are included with the washer. I pick those up tomorrow. And I stopped by an office I used to clean part-time when I lived here before. Without even telling her what was going on, she asked if I wanted to clean tomorrow, because the cleaning person just up and quit. Doesn't pay much, but it's a job I'm familiar with, and I get paid Monday....LOL! Anyway, God is good. Thanks for the prayers. You all are great. |

Re: I need you guys to help me!
Oops, meant to update everyone.
Well, I started out this morning getting fingerprinted for the state, had a work physical, had drug screening, had blood tests for immunities, and went over paperwork for my new job. Now, I called my former job and it doesn't look promising. They are having a low census problem which means they cut hours during the evening shift. This means that those needing hours fill in on days which means there's no work available for me. Nobody wants time off when their hours are being cut. So this creates a problem with me starting work in Sept. It's possible for me to start on Aug 25th IF the state comes through with my temp license. Or...there's a possible other option. When I had my interview, I swear I heard my immediate supervisor talking to the head cheese about my situation and said that all I had to do was produce the evidence (meaning the certified mail stub) that I'd sent my stuff to the state and they wouldn't have to wait on getting my temp license. Well, she's out of town this week, but I'll be calling her on Monday to ask about that again, because the head cheese lady doesn't recall that convo. IF she did indeed say that, then I'll be able to start two week sooner, meaning I get money two weeks sooner. My landlord won't have a problem if I'm a week late with rent, but almost a month late is asking for problems, especially since I just moved in. So, I still need a miracle, but I'd rather stay here and work instead of going back. Just too much of a hassle for me, as I have so much to do here with kids starting school in ten days. Anyway, just an update for you guys, and thanks for all the prayers. |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
Yes, Heavenly, you are in my prayers! I am praying for miracles!
Brightest blessings......... |

I really am praying for you.I have a good job but all of my proverbial eggs are in one basket and any number of things could happen beginning with something as soon as next Summer or something I see in the horizon in less than five years that could mean my job would end. It is a scary feeling and when I hear someone going through what you are going through it really brings my whole situation home. |

I cannot even send my papers to the state until I get my official transcript from school, which I have to fax all info for and it may take 3 days before they mail it, which can mean 3-4 more days til I have it in hand. So I'm asking the school on Monday if they can send it immediately (which is $15 if I asked for it 'on demand' in person) and to send it overnight mail, which I will also pay for. This means I will get it Tuesday and will mail it off overnight to the state with everything else I have that same day. The state can take up to three weeks to get my temp license available online. I will call them after one week and will call everyday until they get tired of my calling and just put it through. I want to start Aug 25th. This means I have less than two weeks IF all goes as I hope. Of course, if my immediate supervisor was correct (and I didn't misunderstand), then I won't have to worry about the time factor. That's what I'm ultimately hoping for! I am excited about this job though. Went through some preliminary paperwork today about what I'll be doing for the next 24-32 weeks and it's intense and exciting. I've been through rough spots in my life before. Had an obstacle coming here, in fact (did you know that a 26 foot long UHaul only gets about 6 miles to the gallon?) and didn't calculate the cost of gas. I was short about $100, but luckily I had a friend that could help. Thank God for friends. |
Re: I need you guys to help me!
So what area are you going into in nursing? I'm peds myself.

Re: I need you guys to help me!
I know this has already been thrown out there but we had a situation with my grandmother about a month ago while her nurse was in India for a month... the lady who runs the home health agency called us and told us of a situation exact to what H1 is having... and asked us since all that was being done was she was coming and taking a vile of blood for her protyme and then bp and weight and then one other day i nthe week and sit with her and watch for 2 hrs to observe possibly changes due to the alzheimers if we minded if the nurse was not currently licensed in TX... they gave us papers from the other state showing she had indeed recently passed her exam that they just had to make the papers local...
This nurse encountered no problems at all from any of the regular patients and worked just fine for the entire month and she is now licensed here so if you havent already headed out you might check into this???? |
