Arizona's 'HURRICANE'

1 Attachment(s)
I thought I moved from Florida. After last nights storm I am not so sure. We had so much rain and high winds. Lost a palm next door to our complex. pretty crazy weather. You can see at the back of the downed palm where it broke off from the tree and came crashing down, scaring the poo out of us as it landed and caused everything to shake.

another shot of it.
You can see it landed on a no parking sign. The post went through the tree.

This is supposed to be Arizona not Florida. There are people who will be without power till tuesday of next week. So many trees down. There buildings that lost most if not all of their roof. The 8 or 9 million dollar bubble that ASU had erected to give the football team a less HOT place to practice was distroyed.

calm at the moment but they say that it could turn ugly again. They do not expect the storms, if any tonight, to be as bad as last nights though.

And out here in Mesa all we got is some wind, a lot of rain and thunder/lightning. But we never lost our power -or internet.

Central City was hit hardest I think. From the way it looks. We had street lights out all day. Try having the major roads into downtown Phoenix with no working red/green lights. Not a pretty picture.

I work in Paradise Valley, and it was pretty nasty up there as well. Lots of flooding and closed roads.
We DID have our power in our section of town though.

luckily we had power too. most places around us did not but we did THANK GOD

what is really cool though is the fact that I had parked right where the tree landed earlier in the day. I had gone to get my oldest from practice and parked further back. Good think I did it seems. I would not have had a vehicle.

Wow, looks more like a cyclone or tornado instead of a hurricane. Glad y'all are okay. Will be praying for y'all.

Wow....this isn't typical for Phoenix. My oldest daughter lived there for 10 years.
Glad you and your car are OK.

The monsoons are normal during the summer but NOT like this that is for sure. I am glad we are all safe also.

What is funny is that we have gotten more total rain HERE (in Mesa AZ) this Summer then we would have had we stayed in Wisconsin.
