Anyone going to Times of Refreshing in Houston this week?

My daughter and her husband are going.

Everything depends on Ike, of course.

It's not looking good for us, but tomorrow evening will be a little more definite.

Will your daughter have a booth at the conference of her stuff she sells in her store?

No, they are on their wedding anniversary and wanted to hear Brother Poe and Brother Arnold preach. Could have gone anywhere and they wanted to be there. I thought that was neat.

Re: Times of Refreshing

Why do they call it Times of Refreshing anyway, you feel like you just got hit on the forehead with a ball pein hammer for a good 30 minutes if you can hang in there that long.

I felt refreshed like a man who realizes his captors are done for the time being and have left the room.

I think if you are lock-step, it could be that the refreshing comes with the reiteration that the UPC way is the right way, and way that very few go in there at.

...if that's your bag, I get it....I get it.

I don't think Bro. Arnold is going to be there. I'll check the list again.

For me, the only refreshing is when the Holy Ghost moves and brings the refreshing. :)

If he is the one I am thinking of, he is excellent! I always enjoy hearing him.

Esther,
Our pastor was just on the phone with Bro. Poe. The Saturday service is canceled and the Thursday and Friday are tentative.

I'm not sure I will hear more as we are busy batten down the hatches.

The wind is already picking up here and we need to get ready.

Talk to you soon!

Shame, I was honestly considering dropping in Friday night.

You are correct, James. All services are canceled. They are expecting a Category 3, but not for Houston. This one is coming our way. We've finished boarding up the house. :thumbsup

LOL! I thought it was too until they explained how the handkerchiefs didn't help then they were perspiring. TD Jakes uses the larger towels also.

I interviewed a guy from Bay City, TX yesterday on the telephone. I called him back today to schedule a trip to Omaha for a face to face, and he's preparing to evacuate!

Yea, really close to us, but it will hit us more head on, it's looking. They will get some of the high winds and rain. That's for sure.

Forecast has just changed within the last hour or so and moving more towards the east, US.

Now we are really in the cone of uncertainity. Do we leave or stay?

My niece just called and said the roads are already packed. :(

If y'all need a place to go... I'm very serious, and home now to host. :) This invitation is open to anyone here who might need it. Two of the kids' rooms are empty right now anyhow...lol 3 of them are sleeping with me every night while we adjust to being home again.

Thanks for the offer but I have a small dog that has to go with us. :)

Cmon...you don't really mean that.

I was just picking a fight. I dunno about TOR, but I do know the main dude very well.

That's not a problem, as far as my apartment goes. As far as the kids go, that's probably not a problem either and any problem that would arise could be easily dealt with (locks on all the bedroom doors if we do need to separate animal/small child for awhile). They're all really good with animals though.

The center track has moved up a little bit. Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. Her husband has to stay here until 6 hours before it hits. She doesn't know whether to drive to Houston or SA.

I told her we won't be making a decision until Friday morning.

Anyway, it's all up in the air. A Category two could put our pine trees on the house. Hope that doesn't happen.

LOL! She sounds like a sweetie.

There isn't anything here for her to be terrified of, we have no other small animals (yet). :)

I'm really not pushing this as hard as it looks, just saying...if you need somewhere and all that, the invitation stands.

Times of Refreshing Prayer Towel - Green
Now you can have your own prayer towel to use in your prayer time and at church. Have you ever come out of your prayer time with Kleenex all over your face? You don't have to anymore! We have prayed over each prayer towel and many have received miracles after having an anointed towel sent to them.

Now all that snot and stuff will be on a holy towel?

Miracles?

Hmmm, is Steve Munsey on this tour with Brother Poe?

So many questions...

C'mon PO, don't get all passive aggressive on me. I actually wish I knew him on a personal level so, if like you say, he can off-set some of the reputation he built in my (and many of my fellow church goers) mind of someone who will say anything to get a shock out of people.

In fact, I am still ticked off that any man would make the statement in a public forum that "men dress their daughters up to wear things their wife wouldn't wear in order to lust after them..."

This is not outrageous? He should be ashamed.

I called him and asked him about it, and he stood behind his statements essentially telling me to like it or lump it.
