We Survived Ike!!!
 

Really heavy winds and rain last night here in Cypress. Very sobering.

Kids slept well through it all ... I was up every 15 minutes.

Lights went out 4-5 times during the night ... and we just got them back on ... after turning off at around 4 a.m.

The fences on both sides of the yard are partially down .... I have some pics of them on my cell phone ... will share later ...

Have not assessed the damage to the outside of the home we lease here yet.

Thankfully we are okay ... last I heard James Griffin is still w/o power.

Pray for all in H-town .... especially in the coastal areas.

The Global conf is supposed to be at Grace Church in Humble starting Mon nite...do you think it will still happen? I know that Grace has cancelled all of its weekend services--extremely rare--I wonder if the electricity is off or will be on for the conf?

I dont know either...I think they would find a way to have the visitation and service for Justin no matter what...I talked with Pastor Brett yesterday, he said the visitation on Sunday, the service on monday, and the burial on tuesday....so said the funeral home at that time

I did just get an email from Global...they are cancelling (resheduling) the Conference by encouraging everyone to meet in Dallas on Oct 2-5 at a celebration already scheduled by Heartland church to honor the DeHarts...the schedule on the website is the old one....

Dan, can't you see what kind of judgement you one steppers have brought upon Texas? lol! Kidding, kidding. Glad to hear you made it through okay. I am praising God for His mercy upon you and praying for all in the affected areas.

I am using what's left of my computer battery this morning to let you know I made it through the storm too. My neighborhood took a beating yesterday. I lost my fence, my garage roof and a large tree in the front yard.

There was water in people's homes and so much destruction. I was one of the fortunate ones. The people on my block have really pulled together helping one another with clearing trees and such.

I am without power, but I have water even though it isn't fit to drink and it is extremely low in pressure. They said some areas may be without electricity for weeks. I pray that my neighborhood isn't one of those areas.

CB1 - Glad to hear you made it - I am praying for all our AFF friends affected by IKE- I talked to my friend in Orange- She said the devestation there is horrible. They did not get water in their house but their pastor did. She did not know about the condition of the church yet. She works at Lamar U and she said it got about a foot of water.

I just got power back a few moments ago. No Damage!!! Hallelujah!!!!!

Praise Jesus that not a single hair on our head was singed through this fire!!!

Jesus was so good to me and Mom. Pray for my Grandparents. They had 3 inches of water in their home, and this weekend, I will be pulling their carpet yet again.
