I'm about to post this on EA in response to an interracial marriage thread. This was one of many reasons I resigned membership on CAF.

I hope you CAF'ers read this too!


I'll start by openly declaring I'm for interracial marriages! Sadly, I'm acquainted with pastors and even saints which refuse to acknowledge interracial marriages, and advise against it. The despicable excuses utilized to advise against interracial marriages are 'think of society and/or culture, what will they say" or "think of the children, it will be hard on them growing up."

To pastors and saints adhering to the idiotic excuses above, to them I reply in the following fashion. Sir/Mrs/Ms, if you're worried what society/culture might think, you best leave the church and train your children in the ways of sin!

Attention readers, society has already ostracized us! We're already ridiculed and condemned for serving and obeying God! Being ridiculed for interracial marriage shouldn't make anymore of a difference. Children and teens are still ridiculed for dressing holy, not participating in certain events, and being identified as a pentecostal! My Goodness, we're already accused of being demoniacally possessed for speaking in tongues!

I'll boldly state I forbid society to dictate the love shared between any Holy Ghost filled interracial couple!

Any I'll leave the following message to those whom are against interracial marriage. Matthew 19:6 reads "..... What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

When you prevent or advise against marriage between saints, due solely to ethnicity, you're in direct violation of God's divine mandate! You're also found on dangerous ground by putting asunder what God has joined together!

I think these so-called Pentecostals bearing these excuses have deeper underlying issues and need a real Holy-Ghost experience.

That is one of the many reasons I do not post over there and since they changed rules I don´t even know if they would let me post. Some of the men there are good men and friends but I don´t like to put people in an uncomfortable position.
I think it borders on pure ignorance because I live in a country where all are intermarried...I don´t care if they are blond and blue eyed they have someone dark also..It s a country where all races just become Brazilians...
I was in one church that was preaching hard against whites and blacks marrying and someone said out loud what about Brazil? And the pastor said, that is Sister Alvear´s problem...
There is no more Bible for preaching like that than there is for riding an airplane....(well that is my opinion) sorry for being so blunt...
I wondered why after reading many of your post here why you did not post over there. Thanks for the information...
Some over there have sent e mails about me and other preachers (not just one have written me) lol...they seem to screen (some) what I write and most of the time they don´t even read the whole content of the subject...
Few things put me out but nosey gossiping people I do not enjoy their company and that does not in any way mean all are like that but some are...
And there are preachers over there and I am sure people here and on all forums that do it, give out their name and password to get in over there. So even at best people are people!
In the past some of my kids have been hurt over the color issue and I do not want them to be hurt. Some of the same people that do not want a white to marry a Afro American or should I just be blunt and say a black person will let their people marry a Spanish person, an Indian from India, a Chinese or whatever race except black...
I tell you my friends it is wrong and the kingdom of heaven is not made up of prejudices.

And spirits like this will cause people to be lost a lot faster than some thing we declare sin...Hate is an awful thing...
I know in your country there are complications but to say IT IS A SIN to marry another race, that is wrong and NOT Biblical...(well, so much for my honest opinion as blunt as it may be)

In the light of the late hour we find ourselves living in we need to wake up and do the REAL work of the church...

I was refering to CA´s forum not EA as I do have a page ove there. I have never had anyone to say anything at EA.
For weeks I cannot get on GNC am wondering why...and have requested a new password several times but have not recieved one??????????????
I haven´t figured that one out yet...but I am content just to post here. I have found a family here so I vent here....ha...

and please understand all over there are not like that just some of them and it usually changes after somone in their family breaks the rules... I know a few cases like that too...(in my life time)

I have heard people say some pretty hard things in my lifetime to live long enough and watch them eat their words...l have ate some of my words over the years...so it has taught me to be more careful in judging.

Exodus 34:10-16:

"And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels ... behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God; Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods."
God was forbidding the Israelites from marrying people of the nations around them. The question we need to examine closely is WHY? Was the prohibition based on race (especially as used in the sense of skin color) or on religion? I think most really know the answer...

we can see without a doubt that God's concern was that marrying outside the "church" (Israel was the Church of the Old Testament) and marrying outside the church would cause Israel to turn away from God. 2 Corinthians 6:14, says the same...

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers ...",
and 1 Corinthians 7:39,

"The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord."
God gave the saints liberty to marry anyone in the Lord regardless of race or skin color. The issue was the same for the Church in the wilderness. God intends for us to marry within the church...

Just kidding, of course. But that is another insane and ungodly principle that the racists use to justify their stance against it. I've had some pretty heated discussions with my father-in-law and his sister about the subject. They both INSIST it is a sin. Their heart is veiled because of what they've always been taught. I find no Bible for their view. On the other hand, I find that in the new covenant, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, bond nor free, male nor female. We're all the same - equal under grace and before God.

I'm sure it would be a huge shock to my parents if my son were to marry (or even date) a girl with a different color skin, but I would find no problem with it as long as she was a decent, holy, christian girl. Why would any parent want anything less.

Interracial marriage is something that there is no bible verses that prohibit it.
People used to tell me that the bible taught agains't it,but after careful study I could find none.
I find bible that teaches marriage of christian and unbelievers and such,but interracial marriage I have no bible agains't it.

NLC is a multi-racial church and has multi-racial marriages. In fact, I just performed a multi-racial marriage a few months ago. It was the son of our worship pastor and the daughter of one of the other of my ordained ministers. I actually lost a family because I performed this marriage. That is sad to have anyone leave, but to leave over THAT, I say, "Don't let the door hitcha......"

As far as I'm concerned, racial prejudice is cause for firing anyone on my staff on the spot! Racial prejudice is satanic and is certainly not from God!

Want to know how I really feel about it? :D

I started a thread w/poll on interracial marriage, on CAF before resigning my membership. The results were alarming of those opposing interracial marriage! Buddy, I was SHOCKED!

Don't label yourself a man of God while opposing marriages solely over skin color! Bunch of wolves in sheep's clothing!

This is a very interesting thread, albeit a completely irrelevant one. The premise of this thread implies that many or a large portion of poster's on the CA forum are opposed to inter-racial marriage. This is completely false. I have gone back and read the two threads in quetions on CAF, the poll started by this thread starter and another one on the same subject and have found the most are in strong support of interracial marriages. While a few presented some reservations to the idea because the racist tendencies of the communities in which they labour. While I would vehemently disagree with those who hold those positions I have an even bigger problem someone who would intentionally spread false information. Where I come from thats called lying. The poll started on CAF by this AFF thread starter showed that 80% of respondants were in agreement with his position and the very few who didn't admitted that it was certainly not a biblical prohibition but the result of the cultural taboos of the community in which they labour.

80%!!!!


We probably couldn't get 80% of the people on this forum to agree what day it was let alone agree 80% on a subject that been a contentious issue across america since 1865

I'm not a prophet nor the son of a prophet but me thinks that this thread starter has other motivations for this thread.

I only know by experience that some churches will not accept blacks and whites marrying... I do not know %....
However I know a lot of sweet people that do...

I know one of the men who was an admin on CAF for a long time. I dont know if he still is, but he has posted several impassioned and long posts about reaching people of all races, and not caring at all about race.... that I know first hand about at least 1 admin on CAF.

I know SP has no problem with intermarried couples...he writes over there but I do know some that do. % wise I do not know...I would guess some here too have problems...who knows????

Where have I lied? Is 20% opposing insignificant? I had a preacher from your forum state 5 months ago, and I quote:

"blacks want to marry blond haired white girls to have light skinned children only"

You stated pastors advise against interracial marriages due to "cultural taboos of the community?" Well maybe one day they'll grow a backbone! So much for only liberals compromising! "Well, people might fuss so we'll compromise and advise against interracial marriage!" (if that's the true motive behind it)

Some people don't understand the concept of being "ambassadors" within this world.

You can parse all the anonymous quotes you want to make these men look as bad as you want but the fact remains that the general discourse on this subject was overwhelmingly positive towards interracial marriage. You however have chosen to misrepresent that by taking a small minoritys position and projecting that on the entire group.

Also, for your information, it is not my forum as you stated in your first paragraph. I rarely post there and don't imagine that I have in the last 3 months. However I can read. So, as such, I have no stake in matter except when I see a lie being told that needs to be corrected.

This is a subject that has recently came up at my church.

We have a young lady that invited a young man to church one night. She's white...he's black....They are both just starting college classes.

Anyway after church at dinner with pastor and his daughter and her family, Pastor asked if we knew who had invited the young man. He commented on how polite he was and just seemed to be a good guy.

When I told him that this young lady brought him he remarked "I hope she isnt' thinking of dating him!"

mind you I have NEVER been around ministers that have had an issue with interracial relationships. I said...well maybe later on when he gets in church.

I got shot the funniest looks. I just stared at the pastor's daughter and she whispered..."she doesn't need to date a black man at all is his point"

Im still infuriated about it. Its pure ignorance.

I TOTALLY agree with this. It hurts me greatly when my husband and son made disparaging remarks about people of another color or race.

I have never seen the differation of any color. We are all the same. Red, Yellow, Black, White. I am the odd person out in my family (on both sides). Even though I have been raised Pentecostal, I feel that somehow or another, we are not living up to our Christian faith by separating ourselves from others.

So according to your own estimate, maybe 20% of Apostolics have a problem with interracial relationships and marriages......and you're making it sound like you think that's an acceptable number!!??

IMHO...that "think about the children" line is usually just nonsense to cover up latent prejudices that people have toward these types of relationships.

THEY don't want to accept it, so they say stuff like "society wont accept it".

Too many times there's just a lot of hypocrisy with that, plain and simple.
