HeavenlyOne Update

In case anyone was wondering about HeavenlyOne...

She is fine but my laptop is NOT fine!

She fried it to a crispy critter and is currently computerless!

Actually, a storm caused the problem. Fried the mother board on a computer not even 2 years old. :tissue

Not sure when she will be back around. Not sure how much I want to invest in the laptop. Everything is kinda in limbo right now. But she'll be back, sooner or later.

Don't you use a surge protecter?

She was using a surge protector. A very new one at that. Hurricane Ike had other ideas though and the surge protector failed.

Re: HeavenlyOne Update

Just checking in while at a friend's house waiting on LR to arrive near Chicago to pick up my daughter for deer hunting for the weekend.

I had the computer plugged into a surge protector and have contacted the company who told me how to file a claim online, which I won't be able to do until next week sometime. I've been quite busy with work and such, but my old desktop is now connected, albeit very slow.

The cost to fix the motherboard problem is almost $700. I'm hoping the surge protector company will cover most or all of it. I don't have renter's insurance at this time, but will have it soon. I had it before moving here, but they can't transfer the insurance to another house in another state.

Anyway, been missing everyone. Hope all is well. I'll get on when I can, but it's been busy!

Love you all.

Godd to know you may get some $$ to pay for repair or new laptop. I believe Dell is having a sale. :D
Wishing your daughter and LR luck hunting.

I'm thinking of getting a Dell for myself once I get LR's fixed...LOL!

As for hunting, so far, nothing, but they are doing a ridge run as I type, so I'm hoping the deer get moving! Problem is, it's too warm, so they get lazy. The deer, that is. ;)

My hubby had his moose hunting trip cut short due to stormy weather. They are hoping the weather will improve and can go back and hunt monday-tuesday.
I love my Dell, just upgraded my desktop to Vista recently. Taking a while to get familar with it. ;)
