McCain was so much more knowledgeable, in control and seemed much more presidential than Obama.

BO was defensive, interrupted McCain several times and once even called JM "Tom", if I heard correctly.

I thought McCain did very well.

I thought he did great...I know he had many people praying to Jesus Christ for him tonight. My friends and I have been praying for him "every spare minute" today...

CNN.com is already spinning it. Not sure what CNN tv is doing.
I've been watching just a few minutes and already they've had two pro-Obama "guests"

I love that "Obama doesn't know the difference between a strategy and a tactic!"

Same here; my family and friends been in constant prayer. Mc Cain did a great job. Obama looked irritated.

I stick with FOX, and they said economics went to Obama, but on foreign affairs went to McCain-

Re: The big debate

One of the things they are picking apart are his "one liners" and praising Obama's details.

The lady i-reporter.. she just said she was probably going to be voting for Obama, though she was undecided before the debate. And then she said the one thing she kept getting hung up on was abortion... and they cut her right off. :D RIGHT OFF

Both camps are claiming victory in the debate. They are reading the official statements from the campaigns.

Elizabeth 09-26-2008 09:03 PM

Re: The big debate

But I am hearing many other positives about how McCain did tonight.

I personally think McCain won the debate.

Drudge has a poll of debate results and has McCain ahead http://www.drudgereport.com

It's true that if a person favored McCain before they watched the debate, they would likely say he won. Same for Obama supporters.

I heard him say, "Tom". And I agree that Obama seemed very defensive, while McCain was calm.

Did anyone notice that Obama was calling President Bush - George Bush and Senator McCain - John?

McCain always said Senator Obama and President Bush.

Hilarious!

Obama did a lot of his emotional appeal to the jury tactic as a lawyer. McCain just talked.

Makes him seem more real and makes Obama more lawyery!

I have to say that Obama did a good job. I have to give him that. It isn't going to take away from McCain's experience, but he held his own.

I loved this part!!

"So let me get this right, we sit down with Ahmadinejad and he says 'we're going to wipe Israel off the face of the earth' and we say, 'no you're not.' Oh please," McCain said.

Hilarious - so McCain! :ursofunny

He did. It was interesting to see him say "you are right" four or five times!

Totally hilarious after McCain's very long description of what was going on in Russia, the petrol, etc. When the Moderator turned it over to Obama for comment and whether he agreed - "No doubt."

What else could he say? McCain covered it! :ursofunny

Read this exchange on another forum:

"Yeah McCain is getting better. I thought he was slow at the beginning."

"Same here, we are seeing the difference between wise (McCain) and Educated (Obama) I chose wisdom every time."

Yes, but he still didn't hit Obama hard enough on the Pelosi and Reid opposition to offshore drilling when energy was brought up. That would have been good for the independents.

He also should have brought up some of Clinton's failed policies on the sub-prime mortgage crises.

I'm thinking he is going to hit that harder on the next debate which will focus more on the economy.

He (McCain) was strong on foreign policy - that's for sure.

A Fox poll is showing that 82% think John Mc Cain won the debate and 16% for Obama, 1% are undecided. Wonder what Obama was thinking when he called Mc Cain "Tom?"

If BO is going to dialogue like this with enemy heads of state, America is doomed.

Wait a minute...if BO gets in we won't have any enemies...his government will cow down to any aggressor that wants a piece, while hollywood entertains America into oblivion.

Sort of off subject here but I just read this article about BO's Empty Premises

I don't know what he was thinking, but I do know what my family and I were thinking each time we could hear him show his disrepect by using incorrect name of Sen McCain or by failing to use title, Senator and President George Bush. (sorry for the "run 0n" sentence) I just can't muster up much respect for anyone who doesn't respect their elders and those in honored positions.
Honestly, I don't like debates. I never choose my candidate on how well he did in a debate. I didn't even watch it all. But I did listen enough to catch that "no respect" thing.

I'm terrified at the thought of Obama getting in, just for this!!!!
We can kiss America good-bye. Obama just doesn't get-it.
What was this sparring over what Kissinger said and McCain's answer?
