Ifill supporting BHO and moderating the VP debate.

Wow should be some kind of fair fight, Biden getting softballs and Palin being attacked by Gwen Awful. Can you imagine if say Sean Hannity were the moderator? Typical. Conservatives always have to run the race uphill while liberals get a ride from the media.

Ask the Commission on Presidential Debates if she will acknowledge her conflict of interest: 202-872-1020.

And here’s the e-mail address of Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission: jb@debates.org

Full story, which includes a clip of Ifill's comments on Palin after her convention speech.

If you e-mail or call just ask the simple question.

Will Ifill acknowledge her conflict of interest during the Palin/Biden debate?

Imagine if the moderator was writing a book on McCain or Palin.

Liberals would be in an uproar.

But I blame Gwen Ifill. She should have recused hersef from the debate, or at least notified both campaigns about the book, so they couild make an informed decision.

Any person who writes a book in favor of either candidate shouldn't be allowed to moderate a debate. The Commission on Presidential Debates should ask her to step down and if she refused, replace her on their own. It doesn't pass the smell test, IMO.

Now I'll also say, any interview I've ever seen Gwen Ifill do has been fair. If she does go ahead and do the debate, I expect she'll conduct if fairly and down the middle, especially with the eyes watching her given the situation.

Personally, I believe she will do fine and follow after Jim Lehr's example. I felt he was fair.

I agree.

My problem is that anyone who supports a candidate by writing a book about "the age of Obama" for instance, shouldn't be moderating debates.

Professional journalists shouldn't do things that call their ability to be fair into question. This was a mistake on her part.

Both are on PBS. What was the deciding factor on the choice of Moderators and who decided?

Mike and PO, I agree with both of you. I think she will be under extreme pressure to be unbiased and I think her monitary conflict of interest here is amazing. She should step down.

but I do believe she will do fine. if she doesnt our side will scream to high heaven.

I heard Sarah Palin on Hannity's radio program today and John McCain on Fox News and they are taking it in stride, but I say, "Let's call and email"....Think about how it would be in Hannity were the moderator. Patricia in TX gave out the number 1-202-872-1020 to express your displeasure regarding Gwen Ifill's conflict of interest. Also, you may email at jb@debates.org Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission

http://forums.hannity.com/showthread.php?t=925241&page

I sent an email and am going to try to call......O'Reilly asked for an interview with Ifill and was refused. He said that out of "Journalist Courtesy she should step down"...I think he is right.

Interesting, it seems that in August when Ifill was chosen to moderate the debate she failed to mention she has a conflict of interest- that being her book.

I heard someone say if Obama wins her book should benefit the results-

but if he loses her book will look like the newspaper headline "Dewey beats Turman"!
