Rhoni's job

AFF prayer warriors,

There is a special request that I have about my employment. I have been working on a crisis team, basically putting people into psychiatric hospitals

My passion is to work in a mega church counseling from the Christian/Biblical perspective.

I have an interview on April 4. This is a unique opportunity and I would appreciate your prayers for the mind of God in this matter.

Thank-you for your prayers, and I thank God in advance for watching out for me.

Blessings, Rhoni

Sister Rhoni,
Let us know about the job interview.I am praying that the Lord puts you right
where He needs you.I cannot remember the Sisters name but she was from
Texas District and spoke at La Dist Ladies Conference one year.It evades me.I have contacted her on a few occasions.Anyway she counsels women in a program using biblical counseling.I think her name is Sharon.God uses her greatly. It would be such a wonderful thing if the Lord would use you greatly.
God is good.We all know the way up is down on our knees.I will be praying.

Sis. T,

Yes, I know Sis. Sharon ...she is the staff counselor at the church in Mesquite. She also counsels at several other churches...one very well known. I wish our church had the ability to do this...our Pastor is working on it.

Anyway...I went to the job interview. They agreed with the Biblical teaching on Marriage and Divorce as I believe the scripture to believe it with one exception. They do not feel those who are in abusive marriages have a right to divorce. When I explained that I felt scripturally they had the right to divorce but not remarry except in the case of adultery...they felt they could live with that.

They want me to join their church. It runs about 10,000 people. I am going to their Saturday night service and see how I feel about it. They told me to try the service, pray about the job, and if I am still interested to call them on Monday and they will set me up with two other interviews, one the financial person of the church, and the other...the Pastor.

So, continue to pray...I want the will of God to be done. I wish our churches were set up for what I do...but most don't. I may have to work outside our ranks for a time. We'll see what God says about it.

Thanks again for everyone's prayers!

Blessings, Rhoni

Tonight I went to the Easter Service at the church I interviewed with. There were several thousand people in tonight's service. It was very good. Contemporary music, a full orchestra, and the Pastor spoke an awesome message on the Faith Heroes. I met with the Pastor and will be speaking with him again this week.

The counseling center has a very good reputaion in this community and I would be honored to be a part of it. Still praying.

Just an FYI...I could not in good conscience become a member of the church. The doctrinal foundation is Southern Baptist and I can't counsel from that perspective. If it had been Charismatic, Apostolic minus the rigid dress standard, and even full gospel...but I do have my limits and I can't counsel from a Baptist perspective. I discussed it with the head of the counseling center this afternoon and I am comfortable with the decision.

Thank-you everyone for the prayers. I think I made the right decision and will wait for an open door in our ranks.

you didnt know the basic doctrinal stance of the church before you applied/interviewed for the job??? That might have been the very first thing I'd personally want to know about a church.... jmho

regardless, may God guide you in your future endevours.... :tiphat

Mal,

I was of the opinion that it was a Charismatic Church. AS IT STANDS...IT IS AN INDEPENDENT Baptist/a split from Southern Baptist. They wanted me to embrace the doctrine and become a member fo the church...I'd have too slide back. I've come to far.

Rhoni,

If your desire is to work as a counselor full time at a Spirit filled church then you could not be in a better place than Dallas.

There are a lot of large Charismatic, Pentecostal, AOG and I am sure COG churches there who probably have staff counselors.

Have you checked with Mike Hayes Covenant Church yet?

Covenant Church is so far from Rockwall where I live. I guess I could move. I have an interview in Plano this next week. God knows where I am and what he has in mind for me...I do trust Him but am so impatient. I have quite a few friends that go to Covenant...I guess I should talk with them.

On Monday I have another interview for Christian Based counseling...it pays more than I have been receiving and there will be no travel, but opportunity for public speaking as well as Christian Counseling.

I listened to CeCe Winans CD that Sis. Barb gave me a couple years ago. My sister is going to sing and I am going to sign again to "Mercy Said No"...it always reminds me of just how far God has brought me...and He who hath begun a good work in me will complete it!

Thank-you for your continued prayers, Rhoni

Sis. Rhoni,

Praying that God will instruct you as you go for this interview

on Monday. Listen for His Voice. Jesus did and said only what

the Father (Spirit) told him to do and say. We should do the same!

We have the same Spirit in us. We need to listen and do exactly

what He tells us to do and say only that He would have us say!!

We need to become Spirit-led, for as many as are led by the Spirit

of God, they are the sons and daughters of GOD!!

Blessings,

Dear Sis. Falla & AFF friends,

The job interview went real well. It is basically an opportunity for private practice with a group of Christian Counselors in the Plano area. They provide the office [which is beautiful and extravagant], business cards, secretary, and pay for advertisizing...it is in a very wealthy area and there is a lot of opportunity. Please pray with me...we have to decide by next week if it is a good fit for both.

Thank-you all for your prayers, Sis. Rhoni

Sis. Rhoni, I prayed and prayed about my job and God let me know the type of job He was going to give me and I told Him that I wasn't even qualified for the job but HE qualified me....I even told my husband what I felt in the spirit that God was going to do for me...and I said, "You know I am NOT qualified for that job" - but God made a way for me and opened doors for me that I wouldn't even look at myself at first. Yes, sometimes WAITING is a good thing and He's just taking more time to prepare not just YOU for the position but the position for you. I'm praying, too, Sis.

Talk Lady,

I believe that...it is just like Jesus. The man that called me today said I am calling you for one reason...you are persistent. He has a Pastoral Counseling Center in downtown Dallas. I was referred by a Christian Dr. I left three messages within the past two weeks. He said, "What do you want from me?" I said, "A counseling position in a Christian environment". He told me to come in Monday at 10.

The other interviews are back in Florida...so we will see what God wants to happen.

Thank-you for sharing your testimony with me...it is encouraging that God cares enough to open a door that we didn't even see.

Blessings, Rhoni
