I'm watching the little chart on the bottom of the CNN screen... Obama is big with the women.

It seems that Obama wants more time. He has been very rude and demanding more time after McCain Speaks. He wants to control the debate.

Obama is smooth, but the content of his rhetoric is liberal, liberal, liberal. Too bad too many Americans vote style over substance.

McCain is a solid leader. I hope Americans can see and hear that.

Do my ears deceive me...did the majority of the focus group polled on Fox News say Obama did better on the debate? I'm about to have a heart attack.

Tonight, I know that they did! He exuded hope, strength and wisdom tonight.

I was proud of him. When I get off the phone I will add more. :D

I don't care what the spinners say - I think Obama was on the defense tonight.

I didn't get to see all of it. Revival at church but it's not what is said in a debate. It's what happens when it comes time to react. I'll go with McCain. If I was in battle he's the man I would want at my side. In one of Obama's speeches he said 'It's just words" and I think that is about what he is made up of, Just words. I agree with deacon blues McCain is a solid leader.

I think McCain represents war to many people. I think what some see as a huge asset (his military experience) others view from a different angle as a liability.

McCain has proven to be an idiot. McCain's not offered anything significantly different from the Bush regime. Obama is highly knowledgeable of the issues, however his policies still may not work. I think the Republicans and Democrats have broken our country and neither of these two can fix it.

Re: 2nd Presidential Debate

Loved when Brokaw asked about the Treasury Secretary and McCain mentioned Buffet and Whitman. Obama agreed with Buffet, but didn't give us an answer of WHO he was going to appoint - big deal there!

Obama didn't deny mandated health care - at all. Funny when McCain asked, "I'm waiting to hear how much the fine will be." Good move. McCain stressed it makes him nervous about government mandating health insurance.

When the woman asked about trusting either one. Obama's answer included spending more money.

McCain kept reminding everyone to look at their records and not rhetoric.

When did Obama ever write a piece of legislation on Freddie and Fannie? He said he did a year ago. An Al Gore moment? He was making fun of McCain "sponsoring" a bill to address Freddie and Fannie like it was only important if he wrote it. Only four people supported S190. Didn't see Obama on that.

He tried to get McCain on not signing an energy bill that Bush proposed. McCain explained it had too many goodies in it. That is one thing that he is so misunderstood about. For example, he voted against the Bush tax cuts because it wasn't balanced out with less spending. They hit him on voting against the tax cuts solely. That wasn't his issue.

All I can think of off the top of my head. The main thing I came away with is that McCain exuded excitement and a renewed we will survive. Obama seemed to exude some fear. Perhaps, I felt that way because I view McCain as being more in command in any crises and wonder WHO Obama would talk to at 3:00 a.m. on the Red Phone.

Does that qualify as name calling?

Whether it does or doesn't... what has McCain done that has proven him an idiot?
If there is one thing McCain has going for him, it is that he is no idiot.

McCain sounded stupid, plain and simple. Obama was very knowledgeable....but I'm even suspect of his policies. At least it's a clean break from the current stupidity being performed by this Administration.

McCain didn't sound stupid. Obama didn't sound stupid.

McCain sounded experienced. Obama sounded defensive.

Mark, what in that answer would indicate rooting for either one? Consistently the opinion as to who wins is very much determined by previous affiliations.

No sir, you are recalling incorrectly. I have clarified many times that I am not for any candidate or any party. The problem here is that anybody who expresses that they are not falling for the Republican strategies any longer is viewed as a liberal, a Democrat, and by extension unsaved.
