"Lost Your Job? Keep Buying Foreign!"

That was the bumper sticker on a Canadian Auto Workers Car said & yes he was driving a Ford!

That made me think, "do you consciously try to buy American?"

Do you think it makes a difference?

FTR, I am a Chevy man myself.

You?

I say that if he would have mixed in some Spell-check he might still have a job.

Ford & Chevy folks over here...

Yes... we make a conscious effort to buy American but isn't as simple as buying names that don't sound foreign anymore.

Fords are made overseas sometimes... Chevys too.. Black & Decker...

Walmart forces nearly every vendor they have to send their factories overseas. Never going to Walmart again would be a good start for Americans.

I also try to buy local whenever possible and by local I don't mean the local Walmart.... local family owned businesses that put their lives into this community.

Not when it comes to cars.
I'm a Honda guy. Always will be.

Actually, 80% of the cars made in Ontario (which is a lot) are sold to the States!

Yes, the Auto Pact is in our favour up to now.

Uh-oh!!! Give him a dictionary because it is:

F -O -R -E -I -G - N

"I" before "e" except after "c" or when sounded as "a" as in "neighbor" or "weigh." Foreign falls into the "a" sound.

P.S. forgot the smiley. Don't want you to think I'm mean. :dance

Re: "Lost Your Job? Keep Buying Foreign!"

I buy where the price is right. End of story. I'm not going to spend foolishly simply to keep someone in business. If the American factory worker (I have been a union steward in the past) would just do his/her job to the best of their ability and not see what they can get by with by doing as little as possible, we'd be in a much better situation.

Part of the blame resides with unions, which are hardly needed any more due to labor laws. But, those who receive their salaries from dues need to protect their jobs. I've worked union and non-union and I'll take non-union any day. Unions are needed for the deadbeat worker who wants to keep his job in spite of his/her poor performance.

You do your job well and do what you're told, you get to keep your job. You don't, you don't deserve it. It's called "personal responsibility" and a good work ethic. Unions have outlived and outspent their usefulness, IMO! :D

I owned a FORD-- but never again.

It was the worse piece of overpriced junk I ever bought!!!

I'll buy an American truck (DODGE only).

I try to avoid Wal-Mart and when I think about it, I buy products, "Made In America."
