Crazy stuff like this makes you shake your head. Why another human being would even get upset enough to say anything to another person over a campaign bumper sticker is beyond me. Much less assault and then mutilate someone is psychotic.

Our state had a very violent attack on a young, female news reporter Sunday night in Little Rock. The torture she was put through is unspeakable and sickening and if she survives, she'll never be the same.

I haven't heard anything solid. Her purse was missing, but they think the robbery angle was a cover up to a possible stalker. It was way to gruesome for just an average robbery or rape. LRPD has done some searching on the sides of I-30 for possible clues and there were reports yesterday that her debit card had been used after the attack but the report was pulled from media outlets. Maybe LRPD thought it would hurt their case or investigation.

The brutality of the beating was unbelievable. From what I've read if she hadn't slipped into a coma, and her heart rate slowed way down, she would have died due to the blunt force trauma to her head and upper body. Both legs, and arms broken, multiple skull fractures, and either rope wounds or stab wounds.

No justice is suitable for the supposed human who did it.

Absolutely, agree! Cases like this reaffirm my opinion on the death penatly. There are crimes so heinous that nothing else is fitting as justice, IMO.

My concern about the death penalty has nothing to do with not believing that there is no crime worthy of death. It has to do with the incredible amount of proven wrongful convictions for major crimes in our current judicial system.
Whoever the perpetrator of this crime is deserves the type of punishment that our law does not even allow for.

This is obvioulsy a reprehensible and despicable act and another display of the utter depravity of man. However, I do find it interesting that was no similar righteous indignation of "Shock" on Drudge when Arkansas' Democratic Party chairman Bill Gwatney was shot dead at the party headquarters. I'm sure Rush and Hannity are going to have a field day with this tommorow, they didn't say much though when one of their "fans" entered into the heretical, leftist Unitarian Church and wounded and/or killed several of parishioners.

Apparently Pittsburgh law enforcement has plenty of reasons to believe this is a hoax.

Her story sounds questionable to me.

I mean, c'mon. The first thing the guy does is rob her at an ATM and THEN notices her McCain sticker, gets mad and sticks around to cut a "B" in her face?

The politically-aware mugger, eh?

AND she doesn't go to the hospital until the next day?

And look at her black eye. Not swollen yet black right after the attack? I don't think so. The white of that eye is also still white. It should be red.

And like Tim said, he got her money then decided after seeing the McCain sticker on her car to 'send her a message' on her face?

Police: McCain volunteer changes ATM attack story

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A McCain campaign volunteer who reported that a tall black man robbed her and then cut a "B" onto her cheek after seeing a McCain bumper sticker on her car has been given a polygraph test because of "inconsistencies" in her story, police said.

Among other things, police said photos and bank card information from an automated teller machine where the college student claimed she was robbed do not show her using the machine at the time, police said.

I agree. She and probably some accomplices were trying to drag race into the equation in an ugly and pathetic way.

She obviously assumed that everyone would believe that a violent "black" man was so enraged by her support of a white candidate that he would carve her face up. She certainly deserves to be prosecuted.

It's usually a "big black guy"... If she is lying I don't know what she is trying to accomplish. There is no good outcome to this story at this point. If it really did happen it is infuriating. If it didn't happen it is almost equally as infuriating.

Well it's official...and very shameful:


PITTSBURGH – A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter "B" scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.

Ashley Todd, 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, admitted Friday that the story was false and was being charged with making a false report to police, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department's investigations division. Police doubted her story from the start, Bryant said.

Todd, who is white, told police she was attacked by a 6-foot-4 black man Wednesday night. She now can't explain why she invented the story, Bryant said.

Todd also told police she believes she cut the backward "B" onto her own cheek, but she didn't explain how or why, Bryant said.

Todd initially told investigators she was attempting to use a bank branch ATM when the man approached her from behind, put a knife with a 4- to 5-inch blade to her throat and demanded money. She told police she handed the assailant $60 and walked away.

Just as stupid as it woud have been for an Obama supporter to abuse her for being a Mac supporter, this woman is as stupid to pull such a stunt. It would not reflect on either campaign for such people. It is the same as saying that someone yelling "terrorist" in a crowd is a reflection of the Mac campaign.
