What's Your Take On Political Correctness?

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional illogical liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous liberal press which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

My first thread and I can't even get one comment. Think I will go dress as Linus for Halloween, suck my thumb and wrap up in my security blanket. :bigbaby

I'm not much into political correctness....not that there's anything wrong with it or anything. :)

I'm actually a bit tired of political correctness myself.

Working in HR it really gets OLD fast.

I am big into being sensitive to others, not necessarily being politically correct but if someone finds something offensive no matter how annoying it is to me and babyish they are being, I try and avoid it.

I think it is funny. Everyone that is politically correct sounds real funny trying to talk that way. Especially when it is a politician. Just cracks me up.

Oh, sensitive--you mean like opening a predictable, clear, and appropriately labeled thread about a Peanut Brittle sale, and taking the effort to make your own reply to proclaim, "Dumb thread."

Sensitive like that? Or rather all the other ones you proclaim "dumb thread?"

Political correctness.

The "Holiness" standards of the first church of liberalism and "progressive" doctrine.

Environmentalism is their evangelistic method.

"PC" or "political correctness" is a sad joke forced upon us by ultra liberals.
Certain people or people groups have been designated as "protected minorities" and we must all tiptoe around them so we do not say anything that would offend them.

Re: What's Your Take On Political Correctness?

Political correctness is a pretty label for the disease of "I don't know how to speak the truth."

As Christians, we do have an obligation to choose our words carefully, but we also should be truthful in our communications and transparent in our views.

From a political standpoint, it's just plain idiotic. For example, I WANT to know if a person has racist opinions, so I can choose not to vote for him. PLEASE, by all means, let the person call names and vent his vitriol!!!! It will help me choose whether to be his friend or not! :)

I think there are a lot of people with very racist, immoral, intolerant views hiding behind political correctness for the sake of votes and retaining political (and other forms of) influence.

Let the truth be spoken! Let your "Yes" mean yes, and your "No" mean no. :coffee2

Re: What's Your Take On Political Correctness?

I don't like political correctness as what it has become today. However, I do feel like that even with PC aside, as Christians we should carry ourselves and conduct ourselves in ways that are not offensive or insensitive to others. I personally don't have a problem not saying things that I know would bring uneccessary affront to anyone. The English language is too vast and I know too many other words.

I've always thought that whenever people resort to crass or vulgar language of any type it is symptomatic of such a condition.
