Conservative Gains in House, 17 Reasons to Celebra

Conservatives, exhale. You will still have representation in Congress come January.

Conservative Gains in House, 17 Reasons to Celebrate

While majorities may be won and lost at the margins, both parties are shaped by the Members who hold their most solid seats. Although the obvious story of election night is liberal gains in both chambers of Congress, a deeper look at the results indicates that conservative Republicans have 17 good reasons to celebrate, as well. The vast majority of this year’s class of Congressional freshmen ran on solid conservative platforms; with the returning Members of the House Republican Study Committee, they will form a clear majority of Republicans in the 111th Congress.

Thank you for responding, Lacey! I wanted to give us some hope today. I needed it. I was sure I would find it somewhere in the news and searched all morning until I found this article.

Ferd!!! You've arrived today! I actually got tears in my eyes when I read your post!

Yes it certainly has and as you've said before - that's what was going to happen and good for it!!!

I want to focus on the positive things now.

Me too! My brain is tired from all this.

It is emotionally draining.

Can you imagine what the candidates are feeling today? Even the winning side?

Yes, I saw tears in Palin's eyes last night. I felt sorry for her. But, I'm not going to focus on this anymore. I was in a bad way last night, but this morning I'm going to change my thinking and - Press-on! LOL!

Theresa,
Did you read the profile of the candidates in the referenced article? I'm going to focus on that today. They have good solid conservative values and were voted in for those reasons.

I don't know the overall consensus of the conservative voting record. I'm just going to be positive and focus on the men and women in the referenced article. :D

I have a peace about the events. I am disappointed but excited. Things happen for a reason, God's reason. Sure he allows man to make choices but he is ultimately in control and this significant shift in our country is exciting for spiritual reasons.

And I think true conservatives will only only get stronger for it....kwim?

Palin and her family took a beating the last two months. I'm sure she'll be glad to rest for a minute.
