Thank You, God Bless You!!!

Friday night I was honored by our church for 50 yrs. service as church
secretary. This is the church founded by our late parents, the Robert L.
Blakey's of Wylie, Texas in 1958. I had just turned 19 yrs. old.

50 years later!

Thanks for the gorgeous floral arrangement sent to me by friends at AFF.
You know who you are!

Sis. Rhoni and Sis. Amazing Grace came, along with approximately 250
guests. It was a wonderful evening. Bro. Larry was there also. Bro. Crakjak,
wife and son were leaving to come, and due to an accident, they were unable
to come. (Of course Bro. Larry and Crakjak are my blood brothers.)

Another wonderful surprise, a short time after Sis. Rhoni arrived she got a phone
call and it was for me. Bro. One Accord and Sis. Rhoni had arranged that although
he could not come in person to congratulate me, he came longdistance from Alabama
via cell phone. So good to talk to him. Thanks, Sis. Rhoni for making your cell phone
available. It meant a lot.

My husband and brother, just younger than myself, and his wife and I, were
also honored as longtime trustees from the beginning of the church being incorporated.

Thanks again and God bless each of you!

Re: Thank You, God Bless You!!!

This is our middle daughter, Cynthia Gore. She is married to the pastor. She is presenting her mother, (me) with the gift of a lovely collage commemorating 50 yrs. of the church her late grandfather and grandmother Blakey founded in 1958.

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...ps/Falla50.jpg

This is my brother just younger than myself, and his wife. He has served as trustee since the church was incorporated, along with my husband. He and I received the Holy Ghost the same night, minutes apart. And here we are 50 yrs. later. Laborers together with GOD.

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...s/Falla50a.jpg

This is my husband, Bill, my sweetheart of almost 50 yrs., and myself. We have served together, after marrying 8 mos after Dad started the church. We never moved our membership in the almost 50 yrs. since we married. God has been so good to us and our family. Five of our children and their families worship here also. The other son and family go to an apostolic church in a neighboring city.

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...llaHubby50.jpg

Just a couple more. These are posed of course. For fun. The church gave me a $5,000.00 check for a token of appreciation. My husband is acting as if he is trying to take my check. You see the resistance I am putting up! LOL!

Bro. MOW, Sis. Margie, and Sis. Renda,

Thank each of you for your kind words and sweet expressions. They mean
much to me.
Tomorrow is the BIG day with a Special Service planned to celebrate the
50th Anniversay of the Church our parents founded in 1958. Special singing,
special recognitions, special speakers. special guests. Sign team doing special
number.
This has been and will be a very memorable time in our lives. Days to remember.
There are 50 textured stones displayed on a wall with the scripture about when
your children ask, What meaneth these stones..." then you'll be able to tell what
the LORD did for you.

Hugs,

Bro. TStew,

I have been here from day one of this church. My late parents were
the founding pastor and wife in 1958, I have mentioned before that I
had just turned 19 yrs. old. Married 8 months later and we have never
left. Dad and Mom have fallen asleep, but we have remained. There are
three generations of my own family in this church. My husband and I,
five of our adult children and each of their original spouses. 16 of our
20 grandchildren also are here. Our oldest grandson is married so that
makes 27 of our family. Our middle daughter and her husband are pastor
and wife. They have four beautiful children also.
One son and wife and four children live in a neighboring city and attend
an apostolic church there.
What we pass on to our children is our legacy to them. What they receive
is their heritage from us. We have a goodly heritage. We received it from
our parents. Why shouldn't we inherit our parents legacy to us, their
children. Noah built an ark to the saving of his OWN house. Many others
have joined us through the years. They are part of this family. God's
family. (Don't know why I said all that!:friend

Bro. StMark,

Yes, these ROOTS have been going downward and outward for fifty
years now. They have spread out and other plants have sprung up
from them. Outward to Canton, TX where my brother, David Blakey
and his wife and family have built church to the glory of God. Some
roots are springing up just to the north of us where our sister and her
husband, Harold Gunstanson, are pastoring a home missions work.

Dad said that he realized that IF his family was ever going to have
any roots, he was going to have to stay put and let some grow. And
that's what he did.

Yes, these roots have grown deep in 50 yrs. Jesus said that every
plant that his Father had not planted would be rooted up. Evidently
HE planted us here. Winds have blown and storms have come and gone,
but the SON is still shining in Wide A Wake Wylie, TX. Thank God!:happydance

Sis Falla- While I offer you my congratulations for 50 years of faithful service, it is your church home that should be congratulated as well. How fortunate they are to have such a faithful member. You are a bright and shining example to us all. It was an honor to share in your celebration even if only by long distance. (Thank you, Sis. Rhoni, for making that possible!) Would love to have been there.

Nancy,

I am so sorry to miss this very memorable time, we were looking forward to being there and celebrating with you, family and friends. I remember well early days of "Jesus Name Pentecostal Mission", dad called it "Mission" due to the fact that he did not presume really that he was even called to preach. He said he would just meet with his family, and if God chose to do more with it he would rejoice in that.

Well, 50 years later "The Refuge" is a continuing witness that God has honored Dad's sacrifice and has used his efforts to bless thousands of folks over the years.

You, Bill, James and Alice I honor today for your investment of fifty years into the Kingdom of God. May the Lord clearly show you the paths that He has set before you. May He give Bro. Chancy, Sis. Cynthia and all the Refuge's leaders and members insight and wisdom, may He show you where He is working that you all can continue to join Him in what He is doing around you.

As you know Anthony our thirty-seven year special needs son had a terrible fall just as we were planning to leave to join you Friday evening. We spent the evening in the emergency room and then back again Saturday morning for several hours. When he fell, he was knocked out, and he has injured his shoulder and scraped up his head. Thank God, there are no broken bones and the CAT scan shows no head injury, however he is so sore that he cannot not walk or even feed himself due to the shoulder injury. We appreciate all your prayers, it feels like years of progress has been lost in a moment. However, we are not going on feeling, we are walking in the grace and power of the living God. His hand has been on Anthony thru many falls without any lingering damage, and we know that He will direct our paths.

I pray the Lord's blessing on the Anniversery service today, may you and the Church be greatly blessed.
