Dreams
 

I do not try to read much into dreams but sometimes I have them and they get under my skin and drive me nuts. I have had a few that I know were sent by God for a purpose and what I was to do with them. I have even had a couple of visions that I knew were from God.
Mostly I figure dreams are just that dreams, something our mind makes up while we are sleeping. I am also familar with the fact that the devil can plant thoughts into the mind through dreams also.

ANYWAY

Last night I had an odd one. I hate snakes, all kinds. Only good snakes are dead snakes. That is my opinion. When I dream and the dream has a snake in it I will wake up and then not be able to go back to sleep because I am not wanting to see snakes in my dreams again.
Last night things were different. I had a dream that snakes were coming out of people. The people were not dead or dying but they were sick and then these snakes would come out of them. My family and I were hunting them down and killing them, the snakes not the people. =)
The snakes seemed to know we were after them and were trying to get away and when we would get close they would try to bite us but couldn't.
I woke up several times during this dream but fell back to sleep easily and picked the dream up right were I left off.
This was all very different for me. I hate snakes and want nothing to do with them. I am not going to get within reach of one. I will kill them from a distance but not up close and personal. Yet here I was with my family hunting them down and killing them.
Very strange. And then for me to remember it and not be sick to my stomach over it.

Anyway that was my night last night. Very surreal for me.

That is funny about the snake handling church. zombies are not real so I have no issue with them. =)

years ago, when my father pastored in rural ohio, out church was a converted barn. They were having a ministers meeting at our place and when they came out there was a snake on the step infront of the church entrance, I do not remember what kind it was. My dad, without missing a beat, says: "I told those boys to put those snakes away so they would be ready for service". I think a few of those ministers were ready to believe him for a moment and wanted out of the organization. :ursofunny

He had to explain to them that we were NOT snake handlers. It was funny. Not for those few men who believed him it wasn't. I thought the one was going to pass out.

I believe that. I have never had a run in with one I have always hated the ugly critters. They just look evil

Thanks, I am glad someone recognizes that I am not old. My kids sure think that 43 is old.

I am a champion snake killer. Mostly copperheads.Found a big one in my shower one day. He left as quickly as I did. But I did kill one with a pickle jar in my kitchen once. If you want to repel snakes, and don't have a cat. Put moth crystals around your property.

I had a dream about a snake once. In my dream I was in a church service at my church here in AZ. If anyone has ever been to my church on the side walls inside the sanctuary there are overhangs above the outside eisles and on the top of the over hangs there are lights that shine toward the ceiling. Makes nice lighting without being too bright. Anyway on the over hangs they are about two feet deep and there is somewhat of a border on dry wall that is about 2 feet (bad explanation). In my dream on that border you could see a snake all the way around the building. In my dream I was the only one that could see this. If you have ever seen a constrictor snake constrict as it is squeezing the life out of it prey that is how it looked. So I prayed against it in my dream, woke up and was sweating and everything. It was very scary to me and it seemed that the snake was strangling the life out of the church--that is what I took the dream to mean.

In all seriousness, (and this has nothing to do with your dream) -- There was an evangelist out of my old home church that was really used for several years. Then he got to where he thought he was super spiritual. He got mixed up with some guy out of Chicago who broke off from the ALJC and they started interpreting the Bible via their dreams. They would have a something appear in the dream and then go off trying to find that symbol in the bible and then apply it without doing any type of exegesis on the scripture. Needless to say that guy is off in the wind -- well at least that is the last I heard of him.

Everytime I have dreamed of a snake it was either an enemy in my camp or spirits I would have to do battle against.

I had a psychology professor that would quote him almost every other sentence. That woman was NUTS. She made me hate that class. I decided that anyone who took Psych class or became a Psych major must be doing because they had problems of their own that they were trying to solve.

Oh that's an over generalization, I got my B.A. in Psychology and Premed. Most people were not "crazy" just some. It's probably just a much looser environment to talk about things that would make other think you were "NUTS".

Any premed or Psych major who had this lady would have dropped it fast once they had her for a class or two. Believe me this lady was NUTS. =)

Did not go to Ohio State and did not have the lady, but since people graduate with B.S. degrees in psychology from OSU I bet many people didn't drop it.

I am really not serious about all that. I did not like the class and I know several others who did not because of her. I did get the idea that most psych majors went into it to help solve their own issues though. I am sure there are exceptions to the rule. =)

I believe that the Lord is helping you and your family members identify spirits/forces/things in your lives that are sick and dying so that your lives can be whole again. This is a good dream. I think God is helping heal the areas of hurt that others have inflicted upon you and he always heals from the inside out.:friend

God usually confirms things through 2-3 witnesses which makes one know assuredly that He knows where you are and what He is doing. Trust the process. God wants to sift out all the impurities to make you a vessel of honor.

Please help jaxfam6 to trust you and relax in the process knowing that you have promised to work all things for the good. It is easy to think sometimes that being a lesser vessel would be 'easier' because of the process, but the Bible tells us that you know who your children are. Your word divides the thoughts and intents of our heart. Thank you for knowing the sincere heart of JAX to be the best possible vessel that you can make...a vessel of honor.
