Blenders and other evils

I am new on this forum and have been catching up on the topics and was reading where some are against blenders. Is this a joke or not? I have been in the UPCI for 36 years and have heard some strange things preached against. Including caffiene, red dresses and deo. What is the strangest thing you have heard preach and how was it Biblically backed?

If you can preach against cut hair, pants on women, and shorts on men then it is very easy to preach against anything you want.

I don't think it is, I sometimes wish I could live as if I were Amish.

How about you can only have sex for reproduction?

I've never heard blenders preached against, but I have personally heard the following preached against within the last 20 years:

Christmas, Easter, high heels, slits of any kind in ankle length skirts, short sleeves, zippers on the front of skirts, birh control, public school, college, dating and microwaves

That won't work unless God keeps from giving folks biological urges.

People were supposed to pray about who they should marry, then they could "court" for a very short period of time (a couple of months max.) during which time they were never to be alone, then they would get married. Amazingly, a good percentage of these marriages ended in divorce.

None here either...that was tic. The only amazing thing is that some of them are actually still together. I tend to think that is a testament to their character and commitment and in spite of the wisdom of their premarital preparation.

Hey, our last church (that we left as soon as we started hearing this garbage) taught that sex (of the marital kind) was wrong on Sundays or Saturday nights -because it was the night before Sunday morning AND for two full weeks during each and every month.

...oh yes, and that its only purpose was for procreation.

Hmmmm....I wonder why you left that church? :crazy

I wish I could say that I'm surprised when I hear stuff like this, but hardly anything really surprises me any more. My only comfort is knowing that there are normal churches without all of this craziness and I am very thankful to have found one!

See the oneness of God and Jesus name is truth, but people are scared of us because of alot of wackiness that is taught in the name of Holiness, the wacko stuff keeps people away from the truth, alot of pastors need to study their bibles cause they add to and take away from the word.
